final meeting for 2012 on Wednesday,
December 19, 2012, at 10:00 am at the
Emergency Operations center, 18900
Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34601.
The purpose of this meeting is to
review the annual progress report,
update current projects and hold
officer elections for the 2013 term.
The general public is invited.
The LMS commi ttee is coordinated by
the Emergency Management staff and
is comprised of representatives from
government, business, industry,
community associations and privat e
citizens. The LMS committee is ...
responsible for developing an
maint aining the Local Mitigafl n
Strat egy Plan which promotes azard
mitigation and guides post·disaster
recovery in Hernando County. Hazard
Mitigation is any sustained action
t aken to reduce or eliminate the long·
term ri sk to human life and property
from hazards. Mitigation activities
may be implemented prior to, during
or after an incident. Actions include
plan ning to reduce or eliminate long·
term risks to people, property, and the
envi ro nment and financial
Investments and other programs to
reduce futur e losses, and to manage
post·disast er recovery.
