Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and other volunteers raked and bagged eighty trashbags full of leaves, which the Canton Borough Street Department hauled to the Doc Holmes property for disposal. Other related items included a very interesting and rare ‘Minnequa’ poster and photo that brought $1,450, and framed Mae West posters entitled ‘Old Gold’ and ‘Dans Je Ne Suis Pas Un Ang’ that sold for $125 and $190 respectively. Also, nine box lots of loose and bound fashion drawings ranged in price from $20 to $625 each for a combined total of $3,280. Interesting artworks and furniture include unsigned oil paintings of ‘Countess’ women that ranged in price from $600 to the largest sold at $3,300. A massive Rococo over-the-mantle mirror with cherubs and fruit basket finials brought $3,000. A plaster-overwood ‘Blackamore’ statue brought $2,700, a pair of five-place ‘Old Man of the Mountain’ candle sconces brought $475, a ‘beehive’ hanging chandelier with glass beads and prism adornments sold for $300, and a Parian winged angel figure brought $230. Furniture highlights included a large two-piece blind-door stepback wall cupboard with spoon carving flour bins base that sold for $650.
