Dear Friends of Divine Child,
Welcome one and all to our 23rd Annual Red Carpet Gala and Auction! I am very
excited to have you join us here at Divine Child. Our administrators, faculty members
and students are looking forward to having you experience this year’s sensational
extravaganza!
So many people have dedicated themselves to this event’s planning and transformation
of the high school into a place of fun and giving. First and foremost, by coming together
to donate their time and talents to the success of this annual event, our staff and
volunteers are a shining example of the Divine Child community joining together to build
a foundation for our students’ relationship with the Lord, for He is the source of all life.
And, the monies raised tonight ensure that the students of Divine Child Catholic Schools
will be the best they can be!
Whatever role you plan in this event, know of my gratitude. Our students are
guaranteed a bright future because of the efforts of everyone who contributes in any
way to our Red Carpet Gala and Auction. For 23 years, the funds raised by this event
have enhanced the educational environment of both Divine Child Elementary School
and Divine Child High School and guarantee that they continue to be schools where
students may grow spiritually, academically and athletically. Together, we are making a
difference for our youth and their future.

“Red Carpet” is a fitting analogy because
we think of our students as talented young
stars who are learning to use their gifts for
the greater glory of God. At Divine Child
High School, we celebrate the abundance
of talent that every incoming class brings and your gift of time and treasure makes it possible
for us to offer scholarships, upgrade our facilities, and offer new programs and services. Our
student services department, in particular, is a direct beneficiary of your generosity. Picture the
young freshman with documented learning needs who decades ago would have had to struggle
in silence. Today, our Instructional Specialists ensure that from day one our Falcons know that
this community is invested in their success. Your presence on this “Red Carpet” has made this
possible.

Welcome to Divine Child’s 23rd Annual Red Carpet Gala
and Auction. We hope you will enjoy this special night
of camaraderie and socializing that benefits both Divine
Child Elementary School and Divine Child High School.
We are pleased to share that the proceeds of this year’s
Auction will support needed building improvements at
both the Elementary School and the High School, as well
as the High School’s Instructional Support Program. This
innovative program, which employs two instructional
specialists, allows students with diagnosed learning
differences to experience academic success at Divine
Child.
New to this year’s Auction program is a “Dedicated
Giving” segment, which gives our guests an exciting
opportunity to fund some additional “wish list” items at
both schools. Our auctioneer, Dan Stall, will tell you more
about these items later on this evening.
We are very appreciative of the many Auction volunteers
who return year after year and stay until the job is done.
We also gratefully acknowledge the treasured and
generous sponsors, donors and volunteers who work
endlessly to help make Divine Child Catholic Schools the
well-respected institutions they are.
We invite you to browse through desirable silent auction

educational environment for thousands of students who
are now proud and respected alumni. Continuing that

This exciting tradition continues! Buy one chance for $10 or three
chances for $25 (maximum of three chances per person).
Each chance is represented by a bead necklace and gives you the
opportunity to play “Heads or Tails” during the Live Auction.
Tickets:

The auctioneer will ask all those with chance(s) to stand and place
their hand on their “head” or “tail.” If the flip of his coin lands on
heads, those with their hand on their head remain standing and
continue in the game. Those with their hand on their “tail” remove
a chance necklace. If they still have at least one necklace, they
remain standing. Otherwise, they sit down to cheer on their friends. The coin flips continue until the
last person standing. The last person is the winner of a brand new Apple Silver iPad Air, 16 GB’s

1. All bidders are required to register with the cashier and receive a bidder’s number. All bidders must furnish their full name, address, phone number, and driver’s license number. They must verify this information with proper identification.
2. All purchased items must be paid for on the day of the sale, and no items may be removed from the sale until settled for.
3. If any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the auctioneer may settle the matter or may immediately put the lot up for sale again and resell to the highest bidder. The decision of the auctioneer shall be final and absolute.

Auction Rules
GENERAL MATTERS
1) Each successful bidder is responsible for paying for his
or her winning bid. Payment can be made by cash, personal
check, MasterCard, Visa or PayPal. Checks should be
made payable to Auction, Divine Child Catholic Schools.
PAYMENT IS REQUIRED THE NIGHT OF THE
AUCTION.
2) Successful Silent and Live Auction bidders will pay for
their item(s) in the Accounting Office beginning at
8:30 p.m. Paid receipts will be issued and the merchandise
can be claimed in the High School Cafeteria “Wrap & Pack”
section.
3) Although the utmost effort has been made to accurately
describe each item, Divine Child Catholic Schools shall not
be held responsible for incorrect descriptions, authenticity, genuineness and/or any defect. Divine Child Catholic
Schools and the Auctioneer make NO WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR FITNESS FOR
PARTICULAR PURPOSE WITH RESPECT TO ANY
ITEMS SOLD. The items are not sold by the donors.
No allowance will be made, or sale set aside, on account
of any incorrectness, error in cataloging or imperfection.
No deduction will be allowed on damaged articles as all
goods being exposed for public exhibition are sold “as is”
and without recourse. All auction items and services must
be used within the time limits stated and are subject to
the terms and conditions stipulated by the donors. Many
items, services and trips are subject to specific restrictions.
Please note these conditions prior to bidding. Donors are
unable to offer refunds or exchanges. Where applicable, the
successful bidder is requested to contact the donor of the
item or service purchased within two weeks of the Auction
event to inform the donor of the winning bidder’s name and
possible time when service will be used. THE MAXIMUM
TIME FOR USING THE SERVICE PURCHASED,
UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, IS ONE YEAR
FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. Gift certificates
cannot be replaced.
7) Vacations, time-shares, travel and accommodations may
not be transferred from the original bidder to another person. Please see applicable donor restrictions.
8) We are not responsible for cancellations or modifications made by the donor. We cannot guarantee the promises, services or products of the donor and are unable to
refund any money spent or donations made, as ours is a
charitable organization.
SILENT AUCTION
1) Silent Auction items will be displayed throughout Divine
Child High School.
2) Each item will have a corresponding Bid Sheet. Each Bid
Sheet will indicate a minimum raise amount. On the Bid
Sheet, write your name or bidder number and the amount of
your bid.
3) Under no circumstances may the Bid Sheet be removed
from the bidding table. In the event that a Bid Sheet is missing, the item will be pulled from the Silent Auction.
4) Bid increases on all items in the Silent Auction MUST
be in whole dollar increments of at least the minimum bid
amount.
5) Each new bid MUST be written on the upper most available line on the Bid Sheet. Do not cross out any other bids
on the Bid Sheet.
6) You may bid on each item as many times as you wish.
After you have made your bid, please allow others access to
bid.
4) Any sales tax, registration fee or federal excise tax must
be paid by the purchaser.
7) The last legitimate bid written BEFORE the announced
closing time of each area will constitute the winning bid
unless there are two or more active bidders on a select item
at closing time. If this should occur, there will be a “bid off”
as noted in Silent Auction Rule 8. It is the responsibility
of the interested parties to make their intentions known to
continue the bid process after the table closes.
5) ALL ITEMS MUST BE PROMPTLY REMOVED
FROM THE PREMISES. Divine Child Catholic Schools
will not be responsible for, and will not store, any unclaimed
items. ALL AUCTION PURCHASES MUST BE
PICKED UP BY 1 p.m. THE FOLLOWING DAY.
8) In the case of two or more active bidders on an item, at
the close of the Silent Auction each bidder will be given the
opportunity to submit one last written bid. The highest bidder will obtain the item. The Auctioneer reserves the right
to referee such discrepancies.
6) Your cost in excess of the fair market value may be considered a tax-deductible contribution. Please consult your
own tax advisor as to the tax consequences related to your
purchase of Silent or Live Auction items.
9) Pick up of large items MUST be made on Auction night
or the day after between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Divine
Child Auction Office, located at 1055 North Silvery Lane,
Dearborn, MI 48128.

The Divine Child Men’s Club has been the pulse of
the DC Athletic community since 1970. Through
ongoing support, the children and young adults of
DC have the best possible sports facilities and superb
educational programs offered through the Divine
Child schools.
What we do …
We assist the pastor of Divine Child in his efforts to
• promote the spirit of Christian fellowship among
the members and throughout the parish
• further the spiritual, educational, cultural, and
physical development of the youth of the parish,
through the sponsorship of athletic and
educational programs
• raise money to pay for athletic and educational
expenses in support of DC High School and
Elementary School

The DC Men’s Club consists of men from the parish
who want to make a difference by contributing their
time and talents to the many activities sponsored by
the club. These men form a dynamic team of
hardworking members focused on the goal of
supporting sports, education and the parish
