Thank You! for making Mary Brennan the #1 agent in Twin Lakes * GO AQUANUTS! #1 USA MARY BRENNAN REALTOR® 630.660.7631 marybrennan@atproperties.com MaryBrennanGroup.com *Metro MLS, #1 in Twin Lakes, total transaction volume, 01/01/2015 – 12/31/2015; USAWS, #1 in the USA, USA Water Ski Show Ski Team of the Year, 2015. 3 Rising to the Top Welcome! Last year was incredible! Our small town team, from Twin Lakes, rose to the top of the show skiing world taking the National Show Skiing Title on August 9th in Rockford, IL. The Aquanuts were also given the honor of being named the Show Skiing Team of the year by National Show Ski Association. The day of our 2015 national title win culminated with awesome local support, as the fire department led a parade into the town of Twin Lakes and dozens of fans lined the road to welcome the team home. As six current members of our team recall from their 1984 National Championship, the excitement of winning will be remembered for years to come! As they climb up, climb down, and return to shore, you will see them supported from below by many strong teammates including their mom, dad, or sister. Even the tiniest members demonstrate the amazing strength of our entire Aquanut family. Please go to our website, www.aquanutwatershows.com to view an incredible video of our team hard at work buidling a pyramid from start to finish. We really appreciate you coming to see our 2016 show. We promise to give you another look at the incredible pyramids as well as all of our teammates. During the show, check out the precision of the 2016 ballet line, daring speed of our barefooters, the beauty and grace of the swivel ladies, the daredevil jumpers, and complex moves of the trick skiers. Please ask our skiers how much they love being an Aquanut, as well as get them to autograph your program. The smallest members of the Aquanuts have always held one of the biggest jobs, climbing to the top of the sky scraping pyramids. You will be amazed by them again this year... watch closely as these beautiful nine year-olds ride past, standing four tiers high! 4 While you wait for the show to start, please check out our brand new mobile friendly website www.aquanutwatershows.com where all of our incredible 43 years of history is available. The Aquanuts are always on social media; find us on Instagram (aquanutwatershows), Twitter (@Aquanutwatersho) and Facebook (Aquanut Watershows). This is your personal invitation from our 2016 show directors, Justin Mushel and Holly Heeter, to enjoy the show! Please come again and bring a friend! We perform at 6:00 most Wednesdays and Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 5 Mission Statement Aquanut Watershows Organization is committed to providing direction to youth, and encouraging family participation through the positive learning environment of waterskiing. We have been very fortunate to share our passion for the water with our friends, neighbors, and the many visitors of the Twin Lakes area for the past 44 years. Click on the “history” tab. Last year, 2015, the Aquanuts completed their 43nd year of show skiing on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Mary in Twin Lakes. We have much to be thankful for and appreciate our long association with the village of Twin Lakes. The Aquanuts are a 501c3 charity organization with a focus on show skiing, adaptive aquatics, and learn to ski clinics. Each year our team shares its love for water skiing with hundreds of children and adults with these clinics and their shows each Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The Aquanuts have been competing and winning tournaments since inception in 1972. The Aquanuts twice won the triple crown of show skiing as well as developed numerous tricks, performed many “firsts”, and were privileged to have many champion skiers on its team. For a complete and thorough look at our amazing history, please go to our website: www. aquanutwatershows.com. 2015... The year 2015 was spectacular for the Aquanuts as they were awarded the title D1 National Champion Show Ski Team! The team’s trip to the national tournament in Rockford, IL was a dream come true by executing a near flawless performance, and achieving a first place finish. The show’s theme, created by Show Director Ken Meyer and Justin Mushel, was centered around the 1978 comedy movie Animal House and the comedic exchanges between the administration and students of the campus “frat house”. To start the tournament season, the Aquanuts competed in June at the Mercury Invitational in Janesville, WI placing third overall. In July, they competed at the 49th annual Wisconsin Water Ski Show Championships in Wisconsin Rapids on Lake Wazeecha and placed third. An award was presented to swivel skier Kaila Coffey who placed second in the Individu- al Swivel Competition. The Back Barefoot Circle Act, performed by Kailey Koehler, (ranked #1 in USA, #3 World-ranked bare-footer), her sister Ariana Koehler (ranked #3 in USA) and Collin Barber, was the highest scoring barefoot act at the weekend competition. In addition, Kailey Koehler was named the 2015 Jennifer Dibble-Woods/Michelle Cook Award winner for the most outstanding female skier of the competition. An Aquanut member has held this award for four years in a row. The season’s highlight was winning the National Team Title in August at the 41st Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski Nationals, a feat that last occurred 31 years ago in 1984. The Aquanuts won Best Ballet Line for the 5th year running. The 31-person ballet line consisted of 9 ladies swiveling, followed by a “thread-the-needle quick pick up” of the remaining 22 ladies. Kailey Koehler and her difficult backward barefoot circles won the Best Barefoot Act of the tournament. Kailey barefooted backwards four times around the show course and ended in a well-deserved standing ovation. The Aquanuts also won the award for Best Swivel Act. With 2014 National Champion Kendall Krieger and nationally ranked skier Kaila Coffey (ranked #3 in USA) as anchors, they were followed by a 360° swivel line and 180° swivel line of ladies. Together this is the largest swivel act in the nation with 14 women strong. The team completed two grand pyramids. The show started with a double top, four-high pyramid and closed with three, four-high pyramids comprised of 36 team members. The Men’s Variety Act, which had wowed the opening of every show all season long, was also a high-scoring act. It included members Ethan Shulda, David Thornton, Jarad Meyer, and Collin Barber. In December, the Aquanuts were officially named by National Show Ski Association - National Show Ski Team of the Year. Three of our talented ladies are again named to the USA Show Skiing Team: Kendall Krieger, Ariana Koehler, and Kailey Koehler. What an incredible year! 9 Would you like to be an Aquanut? If you are interested in becoming a member of the Aquanuts, come down and try out! Join the fun, make new friends, and be part of one of the hottest show skiing teams in the State. Junior Team : Age 9-13 by June 1, 2017 and a strong slalom skier. Senior Team : Age 14 or older by June 1, 2017. If you are interested, speak with a show director (Justin Mushel and Holly Heeter) after a show or contact Cindy Amore at Amoreskiers@aol.com for further information and scheduling. Cheri Amore was a young woman with a passion for living. Like most seventeen year olds, she loved time with her friends, her family and her dog. She loved dancing and parties, football games and cheerleading, and most of all, her time on the water either boating or skiing with the Aquanut Water Ski Team. Cheri’s life came to an end on July 9, 2002. Since Cheri's passing, the Amore family has given a very special award to one individual team member each year. All of the Aquanuts look at this award with the highest honor. With tears in our eyes, none of us feel worthy of receiving the Cheri Amore Memorial Award. Yet with great honor, the member selected by the Amore family to receive it, carries the award with pride. Learn To Ski Aquanut Raffle Let the Aquanuts teach you to ski! July 7th and July 14th From 1-3 pm at Lance Park Each summer the Aquanut team members share their love for the water by teaching members of the public to water ski at our show site, with our boat drivers and team members as coaches. It is a fun way to learn to ski and it is one of the many ways that the Aquanuts give back to the community of Twin Lakes! Program Credits A special thank you to our advertisers and sponsors. Thank you to Laurie Lenz, Colleen Moore, Holly Heeter, and Lori Hunter for the outstanding sales, and editing, both of which were principle components of making the program a success. -Lisa Neal, Program Coordinator. 10 Cheri Amore Memorial Award 1st Prize $5,000!!! 2nd Prize $1,000!! 2002 - Eric Fauth 2008 - Keni Rienks 2003 - Kenny Meyer 2009 - Jordan Kathe 2004 - Donna Brendel 2010 - Bryan Gronset 2005 - Heidi Buntrock Anderson 2011 - Bob Lenz 2006 - Bob Koehler 2012 - Kevin Fleischmann 2007 - Matt Rienks2013 - Candace Klotz 2014 - Dylan Gronset 2014 - Collin Barber 3rd Prize $ 500! $20.00/each Only 2000 tickets sold.
