PRESIDENT’S REPORT (Gavin for Anita)
· Welcome to the ½ Yearly AGM and Anita sends her apologies.
· Alex is in receipt of 2 Proxy’s, one from AJ which goes to Alex and I have Anita’s proxy.
· On behalf of our President and Committee thanks to all those on the Jubilee Organising
Committee who made the event the great success that it was.
· Thanks to all that sponsored the event and the many volunteers.
· We have received corro from the Life Members and MWFA thanking us for a great time
and event.
· Thank you to Emad Berro from Michel’s Patisserie Forestville one of our major
sponsors and long time supporter of FKFC who invited our President and a number of
other Club members to the 50th birthday celebrations of the Forest Lions Club. It was a
great night and we all felt very privileged to join their celebration of their 50 years.
· The new field lights have been a great success and are a great asset.
· We are progressing with plans for spectator seating and it will also have wheel chair
access.
· Attempts to improve the lighting at Killarney Oval are proceeding and I believe we
should have a satisfactory outcome with those. I’m submitting a DA for those.
· Research into two full sized ovals at Killarney has shown that it is not going to be an
option. We share the ground with Rugby and they need 10 metres for in goal area at
the end of each field and with the embankments there it is not going to fit.
Committee Meeting Monday 11 July 2011 (1/2 Yearly AGM)
·

·
We will be requesting that the ¾ goals do not get placed on the grounds at Killarney
next season as they are dangerous to those that train there. The fields are never used.
We have lodged an application with Warringah Council for a funding grant to assist
with the development of the Clubhouse.
In the area of Field rectification Warringah Council have approved $1.8 million for
Melwood Oval with $200,000 for planning and research.
This has been put back due to the delay with the Synthetic surface to be placed on
Cromer.
The down side for the Club and something we have to deal with when it happens is
that we may lose the ovals for a season. With that will be a revenue loss from both the
Canteen and the Bar.
Thanks to Daan for attending the last Council of Clubs meeting (highlights circulated via
email from Daan) in place of Anita & Alex.
TREASURER’S REPORT (Robyn)
· Profit and Loss statement submitted. (filed with minutes)
· Questions and explanations.
· Not all the bills or moneys are in but I believe we will be about $1,000
· Record of $500.00 moved from the Bar account to the Jubilee Event for drinks provided
to VIPs and guests as well as what was moved down stairs.
· Moved by Jo seconded by Daan, accepted by all.
REGISTRAR’S REPORT (Gavin)
· This year’s regos were down from the previous year but that is across all clubs in
MWFA. Not by much we had 1059 in 2010 and 1046 this year.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT - 2011
It's the end of another season. It comes around all too quickly especially when I still have very clear memories
of Registration day. On looking back at last year’s report, I mentioned the down time we had due to wet
weather, but this year really must have been the wettest I’ve experienced during my 8 years with the club.
Regardless, we persisted, and we had a good showing at the finals down at Cromer.
In the wrap at the end of the season we achieved:
• 13 teams made it through to Semi Finals – 5 Juniors, 6 Senior Men’s and 2 Ladies
• 7 Finals Winners – U12/1’s Draw, U12/2’s, U12/3’s, L-16/2’s, AL3R’s, L-O35/2’s, and O35/7’s with the
following teams doing us proud on the day U13/2’s, U16/2’s, U18/3’s, AL6’s, O35/2’s and O35/6’s.
Our success in the 2010 season was showing through with a number of teams being moved up the grades this
year. A great result even though we had all this movement in the grades.
Our Men’s Premier League team are taking relegation in their stride and are already making plans to
strengthen and build up a new look AL1 and Reserves. This is a great opportunity for the young blood in the
18’s to come through and provides us the opportunity to strengthen the AL2’s.
Our Women’s Premier League team continued to ensure their presence was known, finishing in a respectable
position on the table. They are in the process of looking for a new Coach as Carl Mason steps down to focus
on his FKFC Coaching Coordinator role.
This year we had the Small Sided Games [SSG] concept move through to the U9’s and U10’s with the U10’s
moving to half main field configuration and new goals that took some time to work out [but our persistent
grounds staff got the installation of the goals down to a fine art by the end of the season].
Of note this year, our Sub-Junior numbers increased by ~30 players, with us ending up the season with 359
players in age groups U6 – U9 + W-10’s. As with every year, the W-10 gala day was a huge success – and we’ll
go for this again next year. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions the U9 Gala day was a little more
disjointed with the rain-off game having to be played at an unusual time in the season. In the age group we
also had our usual fantastic showing in the Cromer mini World Cup.
In the Juniors [289 registered players], our U12/1’s as they are this year, continue to dominate in the
Champion of Champion games with a resounding win of 7-0 against Orange [last game played at time of
writing]. We wish them all the best for the concluding games. In the finals at Cromer, our U12’s dominated a
lot of the divisions with a draw and wins on the day. Our U13/2’s also made an impressive showing. Other
winners at finals were the L-16/2’s who jumped 2 divisions this year and continued to come out on top.
We did however have our challenges in the Juniors due to grading decisions but our teams persevered.
Special note to the U14/1’s and our L-16/1’s for keeping their heads high throughout the season regardless of
challenging results. Our U16/2’s and our L16/1’s [or part thereof] will move into the Senior ranks in 2012.
In the Seniors [398 registered players], a number of our U18/1A’s and U18/3’s will be eligible for AL’s so there
will be some exciting trials going on pre-season as players vie for positions. This is the time for our young
Seniors to make their mark in the open grades.
In the Ladies, we have a fantastic showing in terms of table results for even the latest of entry teams. We
continue to be very solid with this group of players coming back season after season.
With 7 teams in the O35’s we were bound to get some great results as well. Our L-O35/2’s and our O35/7’s
were grand final winners on the day – both fantastic games to watch. The O35/6’s got through to the semi’s
and, even though a loss on the day, were very proud of their achievement. Our team in the O35’s to
persevere during the season not matter what was thrown at them were our O35/5’s. The 2’s and 4’s continue
to agree that numbers are needed in this age group to ensure, regardless of injuries, there remains enough
players to form a team on Saturday.
We had amazing support in achieving all of the above from our regular and new sponsors this season [full list
of them at the back of this report]. Without their ongoing commitment we would struggle to achieve what we
do - we look forward to seeing them all back next year.
Our mission remains 'To provide contemporary, comprehensive and safe facilities and services for our
members and the local community that support the growing demand for participation in football'. Achieving
this mission is not possible without a portfolio of volunteers ranging from our Coaches and Managers who
dedicate so much of their time, our Sponsors, our Parent community, our Life Members and our Committee. It
takes all of us working together to get through a massive season which sees our 1046 players get on the pitch
each weekend.
Please keep an eye out for works at Melwood and Killarney Oval during our off season. As many of you will
know, we were successful in getting our Development Application for Lights approved by Council. The next
stage of this work will see the Killarney lights refreshed to approved training lux rating. We will also start
work on the remaining DA approved work which will see the installation of spectator seating across the
eastern embankment. We have confirmation from our Contractors and Council that the installation of the
seating planned for Melwood will start around early December and be completed in time for the 2012 season
start up.
Please take the time to review our web-site for Committee positions that will come open for the 2012 season.
We look forward to your continued contribution to make FKFC the successful family club it has always been.
Yours in Football

SECRETARY’S REPORT- 2011
Another season has finished and again the club has been well represented in the finals. This year saw
the introduction of the small sided games up and including the under 10s which by all accounts went
well. We also had one of the wettest competitions that I can remember with a total of 5 rounds being
washed out. Some of these rounds were cancelled and others were rescheduled. MWFA can only
reschedule so many rounds and will do so for any rounds that had partial rounds played first. This
only affects competition sides as MWFA will try to get the same games played for sides in a division.
This season saw the completion of a long standing project for the Club with the introduction of new
lighting. Unfortunately this season Warringah Council also introduced a new system of activation of
the lights and although this had nothing to do with the construction of the lights it just happened to
fall in the same time frame. There were some initial teething problems but it was to do with the
switching system and not the new lights themselves.
Again at the MWFA meetings there was a high representation of reports of poor spectator and player
behaviour across all age groups and in both the male and female games. This season also had a high
incidence of abuse towards referees especially towards junior referees and other match officials.
MWFA and MWFRA are both working hard to stamp out poor player and spectator behaviour with
severe penalties handed out this season. Some teams lost points under the team point system
This year saw a record 20 fines to teams for incomplete completion of referee game cards or late
forfeit notifications. The $20 fines received from MWFA are forwarded to the team managers who are
responsible for the paying of the fines. Most teams take a collection but some managers are paying
the fines themselves. This is an issue for the managers to take up with their teams as the Club will not
pay the fines.
The Club has again applied for grants to assist with paying for future development in spectator seating
and upgrades to the Clubhouse. This season has seen the installation of our new lights and after many
requests of the Council they have finally remarked the car park and pedestrian crossing albeit at the
end of the season.
I ask you all to keep an eye on our clubhouse during the off season when you go past. This season we
have had a number of vandalism attacks and attempted break ins. If you see any damage please
contact someone from the Committee and they will have it repaired to stop it from escalating.
2011 also saw us celebrate our Golden Jubilee year with celebrations at Melwood in June which
culminated in a spectacular fireworks display. The event was well attended and was a great success.
I will be standing down from the position of Secretary and also from the FKFC Committee. I have
enjoyed the 9 years on the Committee and wish the new Committee well. I will still be around but
have taken on a new position as NSW Director of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club
and will be spending much of my time out of Sydney. Committee meeting are now in Canberra not
Forestville.
Lastly I would like to congratulate the three new Life Members, Margie Vogt, Beth Arnott and Shane
Springett. Also to all our members and players I wish you well in the off season good luck in future
seasons.

To the best of my knowledge and belief, the above statement of accounts for the year to 31 August 2011
reflects fairly the transac ons of the Forest Killarney Football Club during that period.
TREASURER’S REPORT 2011
NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS
1. During the year the club was in receipt of two government grants and a contribution from
MWFA towards the installation of lighting at Melwood Oval. These three amounts totalled
$273,636.36 (ex GST). The amount spent on the lights was $227,475.00 (ex GST). The
remaining $46,161.36 has been accounted for as Deferred Income until further expenditure
on lighting is made to upgrade Killarney Oval and the balance of the reserve account
“Lighting Fund (Killarney Oval)” reflects the isolation of funds for this purpose.
Due to the receipt of these grants, the club’s Reserves that were previously allocated to
Lights have been redistributed for other purposes.
2. This year, for the first time, each player paid for a full playing strip (at cost) when they paid
their registration fee and that component of the fee has been shown as a separate item
($33,281.83). Because of stock held over from last year, only $22,114.82 was spent to meet
the requirements of all players.
3. The club Executive budgeted for a minimal profit this year, but a profit of $40,655.32 was
earned due to a number of reasons:
· Field Hire of $3,000 and Light Usage Costs of $15,000 were budgeted following advice
from Council and MWFA. As yet no invoice has been received for these items.
· $10,000 was budgeted for Trophies. Again, no invoice has been received yet and this
item and the field and light costs above will be brought to account in 2012.
· Mens and Ladies PL Expenses both came in $3,500 under budget.
(While the PL expenses are quite high, it should be noted that both the Mens and the
Ladies squads attracted sponsorship money to help offset their expenses; $3,000 and
$5,000 respectively.)
These are the most significant items that resulted in the high profit figure, adding a total of
$35,000 to the bottom line.

REGISTRAR’S REPORT – 2011
In 2011 we retained very close to 2010 player numbers with a total of 1046 registrations across all age
groups. We have growing numbers in Sub-Juniors and Seniors Men’s teams.
Generally, MWFA saw a decline in Football numbers this season so it was good to see our typical return
rate of 75% + new member intake of 25%, was maintained for Forest Killarney.
I would like to recognize the support of Stephen Best, acting as our Administrator through the
registration season. With the Registrar role not filled this becomes a crucial role along with our Age
Group Coordinators to ensure we can get 1000+ player cards all correct in the system and issued on
time.
As with past years, Registrations for the new season will open on the website on the 2nd January. The
earlier you can register the better for the Coordinators who can then assess grading and team
assignment needs early on. On-line registration will be available at www.fkfc.com.au

SENIOR MEN’S CO-ORDINATOR’S REPORT 2011
First of all my sincere thanks to Nick Longdon who is our O35's coordinator. Mate your work is priceless and
without you I couldn't handle the workload so kudos to you- you were an absolute star as always!
It was a difficult year for the senior men's contingent at FKFC. In a disrupted season for all clubs- with many
sides plagued by injury- we fell short of the usually high expectations that we set for ourselves. We started
the year by welcoming two new teams- the U18/1B's and U18/3's- and look forward to their progression
through the ranks. Many familiar faces returned and it was great to see a bunch of new players donning the
mighty green! The PL's had a nightmare year after what was our most dominant and promising pre-season in
recent history, but the one silver lining is the younger age of the squad and the great performances by some
of the U18's players who stepped up to help out in times of need. Our long-standing AL2, 3 and 6 squads
continued in their tradition of playing good, hard football and experienced a degree of success- special
mention going to Dean McIntosh and his young AL3/Res team who performed well all year and ran out
victors in their Grand Final. Bloody good effort! Exciting times lay ahead with our 18/1A side moving into the
challenging U21 comp or possibly filtering into our top open sides- there is certainly some great talent in that
team. The younger 18's sides will be back next year, stronger than before and showcasing the impressive raw
ability that they possess. A huge thanks goes out to all of the managers/coaches/supporters. This year ran
quite smoothly (apart from the constant "precipitation warfare" launched by mother nature) and this is
thanks primarily to the tireless work by all of you- it's a long season and we all lead busy lives but I truly
appreciate the effort you put in. Having said that- next year we really need to turn the wick up! We've got a
great bunch of guys in every grade and we're all proud to wear the Forrey green so enjoy the break and I look
forward to seeing all of you back on the park next year.
Darren Kelly
FKFC SENIOR MENS VP - 2011
The Over 35 Men’s age group again fielded 6 teams, 2 in Division 2, and 1 each in Divisions 4-7, and as with
previous years it was great to see many new faces in the various teams. It was a challenging year with the
many rained off games, which wasn’t exactly conducive to teams building up any kind of fitness, consistency
or momentum. But overall everyone had fun and we experienced some excellent team performances, with a
grand final winner (35/7), a grand final loser (35/6 - only on penalties) and a semi-final loser (35/2B) out of
the 6 teams. The 35/2A and 35/2B teams played some competitive local derbies during the season and the
2A team only missed out on a semi-final berth because of the dreaded MWFA points adjustment for
cancelled games. At the other end of the table the 35/5 team went through the whole season without
winning a game, but still enjoyed themselves and are already planning for next year. A special mention to the
35/7 team that has in previous years languished at or near the foot of the table but this year, with some new
recruits, won a must-win last game of the season to sneak into 3rd place in their competition, won their
semi-final, and then went on to win an action packed and highly entertaining grand final 5-3.
Thanks to the managers and coaches that helped to get the teams onto the park and running smoothly
throughout the season. We hope to see everyone back again in the mighty green shirts in 2012.
Nick Longdon O35 Men’s Co-ordinator
LADIES CO-ORDINATORS REPORT 2011
We saw a lot of previous Ladies players from last season re-register for the season which was fantastic.
Along with our returned members we had the opportunity to submit a full new team as well. Although a
late to the season, the L-AL2B’s did themselves proud and returned an impressive first season result.
Our Premier League struggled for numbers initially but they got their rhythm as the season progressed. But
life will change again. With Carl Mason, there coach of the past two years, stepping down to focus on his
Coaching Co-ordinator role, the Ladies in our W-PL and W-PL R’s are eagerly looking for a refreshed
Management team to take them into 2012. MWFA continue to look at the makeup of this Division so there
may be a few more changes than just the coach to deal with in the new season. We trust all players will
come back to meet these changes head on.
Our Ladies O35’s had a fantastic end of season final [in the pouring rain] and were victors on the day. An
absolutely stunning goal from Lauren Rudd was welcomed by players and spectators alike. I’m convinced
celebrations and congratulations went on long into the night.
Not to be out done, our L-16/2’s also put on a stunning performance. It was another very exciting game, but
in much better weather conditions. This team came through to Division 2’s as winners in Div 4. So
regardless of a 2 Div leap, they still maintained a very high level of performance for such a young team – that
will remain in the L-16’s for the third year in 2012.
And while on the Junior teams. We experienced a couple of grading challenges as the season commenced
but everyone persevered to create a great season for them. Special mention to the L-16/1’s who received
an encouragement award for their persistence in Div 1 – not winning a single game can get frustrating, but
they rose above that and had a great season.
Our Rubies did themselves proud through the entire season and shone on Ladies U10 gala day which was
enjoyed by them and the entire MWFA extended community. Very respectable positions were achieved by
the balance of all our remaining Junior Ladies teams. We look forward to them all coming back next year.
I hear around the fields that Meg Tulk had an absolutely wonderful season coordinating our L-18’s team who
achieved a play out in the Semi’s [coming 3rd on the table]. It will be fantastic to see this team migrate
through to our L-AL’s in 2012.
The L-AL’s all decided to have a very consistent season. Our L-AL2’s came in 3rd and 4th on the table so both
participating, unsuccessfully, for Final positions. Regardless of not getting through to the finals, this shows
great strength in one of our top divisions. The L-AL3’s and L-AL4’s [not to outdo each other] both landed 4th
on the table and like the 2’s, neither successful in getting through to the finals. But the discussion and
stories after all games assures me that all teams had another fantastic season.
I continue to thoroughly enjoy working with the Ladies teams and I trust we will see you all back in 2012.

JUNIOR CO-ORDINATORS REPORT 2011
The 2011 season has come and gone like a whirl wind. I have watched a great year unfold with it's highs and
lows but none the less one that has left a good impression. We are currently still following our U12/1 (2010
Champion of Champions) progress through the ranks in the Champion of Champions games and hope to see
them snag there place once again this year and have them crowned Champions for another year.
It was a great finish to the year seeing our 12/1, 12/2, 12/3, 13/2 & 16/2 battle it out in the finals with a big
congratulations going to all of our 12's who managed to stay on top winning the Grand Finals.
A huge thank you go's out to all of our Coaches & Manages for their continues effort in providing such
fantastic support and guidance to all of our boys and girls. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful
volunteers and are greatly for all the time which is spent building the club and teams. I would also like to
send out a congratulations to Duncan Kerr coach of the 12/1's who was named Club Person of the Year 2011.
Over all it has been a great year for all new and old players, who have managed to show strength and pride
in their teams. As the years roll on it is great to see the formation of new teams and seeing how they find
their feet. So I would like to send out a welcome to all the new players of 2012 and especially the 10's who
will be moving up the ranks. I am sure we will have another successful year and hope to see a competitive
spirit in the year to come.

SUB JUNIOR CO-ORDINATORS REPORT 2011
2011 has been another great year for Sub Junior football, although the wet weather certainly left a lot of
frustrated players and parents.
The SSG (Small Sided Games) format is now well established in the sub-Juniors, with all sub junior age groups
(U6 - U10) now playing the SSG format. There were a few hiccups as the U10’s started playing SSG format
this year, (eg a lack of proper goals) but this was sorted out after a couple of weeks.
The U8’s were huge this year – 13 teams, and we hope to see them all back next year, as with all our players.
Again, we have been asked to grade from U9’s next year, This, I think, will be quite challenging with the
number of players - especially those U8’s, but the intent from MWFA is to enable a skill set match-up, as
close as possible across teams, to ensure the closest competitive match for all players in their grades.
FKFC organised coaching sessions for Sub Junior Coaches and Managers during the season. Attendance at
these from FKFC membership was great and this shows significant and exciting dedication to Coaching from
our Sub-Junior ranks. Carl Mason (Coaching Manager) will organise more of these for us next year, which will
be of great to benefit to both the coaches and players in the Sub-Juniors.
We look forward to seeing all the players back for another great (hopefully less wet) season next year!
