won his third straight decision, holding the Mets to 2ER (on a pair of solo home runs) in
6.1IP (6H, 2BB, 6K)…1B Mark Teixeira (1-for-2) hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the
sixth…CF Curtis Granderson (1-for-3) hit his team-leading 18th home run of the season
in the eighth.

the program is available online at www.MLB.com/PHR.

JUST A COUPLE: The Yankees held the Mets to 2H in Friday’s win, their fewest hits surrendered since 8/19/11 at Minnesota
(also 2H) and their fewest at home since a one-hitter on 7/26/11 vs. Seattle…marked the fifth time the Yankees have
held their oponent to 2H or fewer in an Interleague game, with three of those coming against the Mets (also 1H each on
6/30/06 at the original Yankee Stadium and 6/27/09 at Citi Field).
The Yankees have held their opponent to 4H or less in four of their last six games.

GO, GO CANO: 2B Robinson Cano has hit 8HR in his last 20 games…hit 3HR total over his first 38 games of the year…his

and Alberto Castillo)…had hit just 1HR off a LHP in 2012 entering Friday’s game.

as the only second basemen to accomplish the feat.

POST NO-NO: With their win on Friday vs. Johan Santana, the Yankees are now 2-0 in games against starting pitchers

UP NEXT...YANKEES at ATLANTA
NYY ALL-TIME RECORD vs. ATLANTA: 12-10 (.545)
NYY ALL TIME at Atlanta: 6-2 (.750) --- NYY at Turner Field: 6-2 (.750)
OVERALL TRENDS/FACTS: The Yankees and Braves will play two series against each other this season…marks the second time in franchise history the
Yankees will play a home-and-home Interleague series against a team other than the Mets - also Atlanta in 1998…the Yankees have won four of the seven
season series all-time between the two teams…have played the Braves four times in the World Series, twice while the club was in Milwaukee (1957 and
’58) and twice in their current location in Atlanta (1996 and ’99)…lost the ’57 Series but have won their last three postseason meetings between the clubs.
AT TURNER FIELD: The Yankees are playing their fourth-ever regular season series at Atlanta…have won all three of their previous road series at Atlanta.
MONDAY’S PROBABLE STARTER at ATLANTA: RHP IVAN NOVA (7-2, 5.09)
RHP Ivan Nova, 25, will make his 12th start of the season on Monday vs. the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field…will be his sixth career Interleague start and first vs.
Atlanta…last started on 6/6 vs. Tampa Bay and earned the win in the 4-1 Yankees’ victory, allowing 1ER in 8.0IP (4H, 1BB, 5K, 1HP, 1WP)…allowed a single to
the leadoff hitter in the first (Desmond Jennings) and then did not allow a hit until Sean Rodriguez’s double with one out in the eighth…in between, faced 23
batters and recorded 22 outs (including a first-inning double play), 1HP and 1BB…was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on 7/15/04.
ROADIE: Is now undefeated in his last 13 starts on the road since 6/20/11, going 10-0 with a 3.61 ERA (84.2IP, 34ER) over the stretch…ties the longest road
winning streak by a Yankees pitcher since 1995 (Roger Clemens, 10, 5/26-9/19/01, and Andy Pettitte, 10, over two stints with the Yankees, 6/20/03-5/3/07)
and marks the most since Jimmy Key went undefeated over 11 consecutive road decisions from 9/29/93-8/5/94.
INTERLEAGUE PLAY: In five career Interleague starts, is 2-1 with a 3.98 ERA (31.2IP, 14ER), winning all but one of those outings…prior to recording his first
career Interleague loss earlier this season in his outing on 5/19 vs. Cincinnati, was one of just four active Major League hurlers to have started at least four
games in Interleague play and not record a loss - also Pittsburgh’s Jeff Karstens (4-0), and Arizona’s Daniel Hudson and Cleveland’s Josh Tomlin (each 3-0).

• Was placed on the 15-day D.L. on 5/4 with a torn ACL of the right knee…sustained injury while shagging fly balls during batting practice prior to 5/3
game at Kansas City…underwent MRI at Kansas University MedWest Hospital…was transferred to the 60-day D.L. on 5/13.
• Is Baseball’s all-time leader with 608 career saves…has exactly twice as many saves with one team as Jeff Montgomery—who ranks second in saves
among players who spent their entire career with one club—had with Kansas City (304)…earned his 600th career save on 9/13/11 at Seattle…has converted
195-of-211 (92.4%) save opportunities since 4/21/07, the most saves in the Majors over that span.
• Has a career ERA of 2.21, the second-lowest all-time among pitchers with at 1,000.0IP since earned runs became an official statistic (1912-NL, 1913-AL)
behind Eddie Cicotte (2.20), and just ahead of Jim Scott (2.26) and Babe Ruth (2.28) – credit: Elias Sports Bureau.
FIRST BATTER OUT/FACED: 12/15
INHERITED RUNNERS/SCORED: 4/0
• Was placed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/15 with a left oblique strain (retroactive to 5/14).
• Made his 15th appearance of the season in 5/11 win vs. Seattle, retiring both of his batters faced to close out the game in a non-save situation…made
second appearance in as many days in 5/9 loss vs. Tampa Bay, allowing 3H and 4ER in 0.2IP (1BB, 1K, 1HR) to record his first loss and blown save…marked
his first runs allowed this season and snapped a 26.1-inning regular season scoreless stretch dating back to 9/1/11…marked his most runs allowed since
7/2/10 vs. Toronto (also 4ER)…Joyce’s home run was just his second HR allowed in his last 99 games (96.0IP) dating back to 8/31/10 (also 8/29/11 at
Baltimore, J.J. Hardy)…in 5/8 win vs. Tampa Bay, tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his first save of the season and fourth of his career.
• Did not allow a run in his first 13 appearances of the season from 4/6-5/8 (13.0IP, 8H, 5BB, 23K)…did not allow a run over a 26.1-inning stretch from
9/1/11-5/8/12, marking the longest scoreless stretch by a Yankees pitcher since Mariano Rivera tossed 30.2 consecutive shutout innings in 1999.
• Led all AL relievers and ranked fourth in the Majors with 100K in 2011…his 13.50K/9.0IP (100K, 66.2IP) ratio ranked second in the AL and fourth in the
Majors, marking the highest K/9.0IP ratio by a Yankees reliever in franchise history.
• Owns a 12.23K/9.0IP career ratio (294K, 216.1IP), best in Major League history (min. 200.0IP).
FIRST BATTER OUT/FACED: 13/22
INHERITED RUNNERS/SCORED: 6/2
• Made his 22nd appearance of the season in Saturday’s win vs. the Mets, tossing a scoreless ninth for his ninth save (1.0IP, 1H, 1BB)…in Wednesday’s win
vs. Tampa Bay, earned his eighth save after entering with a runner on third and no outs in the ninth inning and retiring all three batters faced without
allowing the runner to score (1.0IP, 1K)…in 6/1 win at Detroit, induced game-ending double play to earn his seventh save (0.2IP).
• Entering the 2012 season, held opponents to the fourth-lowest batting average (.190) in his career among active Major League relievers (min. 200.0IP).
FIRST BATTER OUT/FACED: 19/25 INHERITED RUNNERS/SCORED: 17/2
• Made his 25th appearance of the season in Saturday’s win vs. the Mets, allowing 1H in 0.2IP…in Thursday’s loss vs. Tampa Bay, allowed 2H and 1ER in
0.2IP (1BB)…made his second appearance in as many days and third in as many games in 6/2 loss at Detroit, allowing 1ER in 1.0IP (1H, 1HR).
• Won his first five decisions as a Yankee from 6/16-9/11, becoming the first player to begin his Yankees career 5-0 since David Robertson (5-0, 7/19/086/4/09) and first to do so in a single season since Aaron Small went 10-0 in 2005.
