Elena Cooke Education Fund
 ECEF was set up in honour of Miss Elena Maud Cooke, who
was the principal of BBGS from 1958 to 1977.
 On 4th August 2009, the BBGSOGA launched the Elena Cooke
Education Fund at the mega reunion, BACK2BBGS held at the
Bintang Circle, Pavilion KL.
 This fund is to help needy students / Malaysians to pursue
further education after Form 5 at local colleges or universities.
 The first three scholarships were given out in 2012 and 2013
respectively. Two recipients have since completed their
courses.
 In February 2014 - collaboration with KBU International
College.
 5 scholarships were awarded in 2014. And tonight another 3.

An old man going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm vast and deep and wide.
Through which was flowing a sullen tide
The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
