Accredited by the
American Camp
Association
Both of our camps
are accredited by
the American Camp
Association. This is
important because you
want your child to attend a camp which is
conducted according to the highest standards
for camping in the United States. Accreditation
by the A.C.A. is like the “Good Housekeeping
Seal of Approval.” It is a mark of significant
achievement. You want the best for your child,
and our Lutheran camps provide it.

The Jesus Way
We are called to follow
Jesus and live like him
- which is not always
easy. We must be active
disciples, watching Jesus,
listening, learning, and of
course, doing. Jesus tells
us that we must take up
our cross and be followers
of him through love and
service. In 2016, campers will learn to trust in
God’s promise as we feed, forgive, love, serve
and pray... The Jesus Way.
Introducing
Three-Tiered Pricing
LCC believes all kids should have the
opportunity to attend camp. We know camp
families have differing abilities to pay, so we
offer a voluntary three-tier pricing structure to
better meet all financial needs. Since you know
your family’s financial situation better than we
do, you self-select the rate you can afford!
See ‘insert a’ for full details on Three-Tiered Pricing

Ministry For All Ages
The Wittel Farm
Family Camp
Summer Day Program
Your group’s assignment, should you choose to accept it (and you most
definitely should!) is to report to the Wittel Farm for a day this summer
to take on Mission Possible!
Being a disciple today is no easy assignment. We are challenged to love
our neighbors as ourselves, forgive our enemies, serve others following
Jesus’ own example, and to be good caretakers of God’s creation. Sounds
tough, but through God and with Jesus all things are… Mission Possible.
•This program is intended for children aged 6 to 12.
•Program is offered each Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday beginning June 21 through August 11.
•Time: 9:30am to 1:30pm
•Lunch is provided.
•Cost: $8.00 and one non-perishable food item per person ($80.00 minimum for
groups under 10 persons). Food items will be part of a service project and will be
distributed to a local food ministry.
•Swimming at Kirchenwald is available for the remainder of the afternoon at no
additional cost.
•Suggested group size: 10 to 20 children.

Camp Kirchenwald proudly presents the family vacation
everyone can enjoy! Celebrate your family (whatever its
form - grandparents, children, niece, second cousin twice
removed...) in this unique camp experience. Leave the
distractions at home as you grow closer together and closer
to God through Bible study, worship, swimming, crafts, hikes,
canoeing, Capture the Flag, and more. Strengthen the bonds
of family through the challenge course and climbing tower.
Create memories that will be told over Thanksgiving dinners
for years.
Since 1965, families of all shapes and sizes have been
coming to Nawakwa. You have two opportunities to join
us and experience the unique Christian community Family
Camp offers people of ALL ages.
Many adults spend the morning hours in Bible study with
the pastor-in-residence; some sit on their porches and
watch the trees sway in the breeze. Kid-size campers are
divided by age group to participate in all sorts of campy
activities with Nawakwa counseling staff. Afternoons feature
a full schedule of swimming, crafts, hikes, bike rides,
tournament games, book discussions, playground time, and
championship napping: your choice! Evenings always feature
worship for the community and some sort of festivity.
Accommodations are available in rustic shelters and in the
SchreiberHaus Lodge, to best suit your needs. Make this the
year to start a new family tradition.
Housing options include our comfortable lodges or
the more rustic cabin accommodations. Partial week
participation is an option.
•Reservations are required. Call the Camping office at 717-677-8211 to reserve a date for your group or for more information.

This week is specially designed for adults 55 and older. It
runs alongside, and sometimes runs circles around, our
youth camp, from Sunday – Saturday. Elder Campers live in
single or double occupancy rooms in comfortable Zinn-Tozer
Lodge (you only have to sleep in the top bunk if you want
to). The EC’s have their very own counselors and chaplain
who base daily Bible study and worship on the summer
camp curriculum used by the rest of the camp.
With opportunities to participate in crafts, Skit Night, and meals
in the dining hall, the Elders have plenty of opportunities to
be just like the other kids... of course, the other kids don’t have
access to Zinn-Tozer’s kitchen and coffeemakers, spontaneous
field trips, and the freedom to set their own time for Lights Out.
Whether you’re looking for a week of relaxation and reflection,
fun with other feisty seniors, or the chance to spend a week
at summer camp
with (or without)
your grandchildren,
Elder Camp is a great
opportunity for anyone
who loved camp or
missed out on camp as
a kid.

Diaconos
Program
at Kirchenwald
The Diaconos program at Kirchenwald is designed for youth groups to custom-plan a week filled
with a combination of service opportunities and adventure outings. With the Diaconos staff, you can
schedule a week that perfectly fits the needs and abilities of your group. Service sites in
the community engage you and your group in physically expressing the ministry of
Christ. This program also offers the chance to interact with the people you serve
and with one another, sharing the good news and growing in spirit to the glory
of God. We also recognize the importance of social and spiritual development
through group dynamics, and encourage you to make adventure/recreation
programs part of your Diaconos experience. These adventure opportunities
will challenge your group to work together and overcome obstacles, while enjoying some of the
exciting outdoor activities available. Contact Zach Weiss at 717-964-3121 for more information.

2016 SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION FORM
Our goal for each child attending a summer camp
program is to have an experience of Christian community
in which the camper is safe, and grows spiritually and
socially. During a week in camp, in the course of activities,
it is natural that there will be conflicts within cabin
groups and between campers and their counselors. It
is in resolving these conflicts – in the give and take of
negotiation – that some of the most important lessons of
a week at camp are learned.

Occasionally, however, behavior on the part of a camper
may become so disruptive as to require removal from
a week of camp because conflicts cannot be resolved.
Therefore, the following guidelines are presented
for children during their week in camp. Parents are
encouraged to review these guidelines with their children.

About Tiered Pricing
We believe that no one should be prevented from attending camp at Kirchenwald or
Nawakwa based on their ability to pay. This is one of the things that sets us apart from
other summer camp opportunities.
Because of the strong financial support of our donors and friends, the Lutheran Camping
Corporation has always subsidized the cost of camp for everyone. The high quality outdoor
ministry experiences offered at Kirchenwald and Nawakwa incur expenses related to food
and utilities, permitting and equipment, insurance, maintenance, staff salaries, and more.
Our history of subsidizing the registration
cost - and our generous Campership
program - has enabled campers from a
broad economic spectrum to live together in
Christian community in our unique settings.
Camp families have differing abilities to
pay. Since you know your family’s financial
situation better than we do, we’re introducing
a voluntary three-tier pricing structure in
which you self-select the rate you can afford!
How much does this great experience really cost?
Multiple payment tiers illustrate the true costs at Kirchenwald and Nawakwa. Please
consider selecting the highest level you can afford, knowing that, in doing so, you are
enabling others to participate as well – and our communities benefit from greater diversity.
•Tier 1: Most closely reflects the “true cost” of camp.
•Tier 2: Partially subsidized for families needing some support to make camp affordable.
•Tier 3: Subsidized rate, supported through contributions from individuals and congregations.
PLEASE REMEMBER: All campers receive the
same high quality camp experience regardless
of payment tier chosen. Your selection is
completely confidential.

Why Church Camp?
We live in a world of choices and opportunities. Everyday, we make decisions about how to spend our
time and money so that we receive the greatest benefit… to get the biggest bang for our buck. And
our culture tells us that we need to do everything we can to get ahead.
We also live in a world that is rapidly changing. Entertainment and social media have a greater
impact on our decision-making than ever before. Ours is a world that requires strength of character
and self-assurance.
At the Lutheran Camping Corporation, we understand that
you want the very best for your children and grandchildren,
and we believe that the outdoor ministry programs at
Kirchenwald and Nawakwa offer THE VERY BEST.
• Our campers practice living a faithful life in a non-threatening environment.
• Our campers practice living as Jesus intends us to live, in a community of people striving to do
the same.
• Our campers have opportunities for quiet, individual devotion as well as dynamic, participatory
worship.
• Our campers are given safe spaces to discuss faith topics
with peers and mentors.
• Our campers learn how to be disciples – followers of Jesus
– eager to proclaim the Gospel and serve others.
This is faith formation… and it takes place within the setting
of an outdoor community that seeks to build character, foster
independence, encourage good relationships, and teach life
skills… benefits that campers will carry with them for the rest
of their lives.
That’s a pretty big bang for your buck!

PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITY: I am interested in the policies, goals and program of the Lutheran Camping Corporation and hereby give my child permission to participate in
the programs and activities of the camps he or she may attend. In the event hikes, field trips or camping trips are planned away from camp as part of the camp program
and under the direction of the camp administration, the above named camper has my permission to participate in such activities. Any photos or video recordings taken in
which my child appears may be used for promotion of camping free of any claims. I have read the refund policy and agree to the provisions contained in it.

Our goal for each child attending a summer camp program is to have an
experience of Christian community in which the camper is safe, and grows
spiritually and socially. During a week in camp, in the course of activities, it is
natural that there will be conflicts within cabin groups and between campers
and their counselors. It is in resolving these conflicts – in the give and take
of negotiation – that some of the most important lessons of a week at camp
are learned.
Date
Occasionally, however, behavior on the part of a camper may become so
disruptive as to require removal from a week of camp because conflicts
cannot be resolved. Therefore, the following guidelines are presented for
children during their week in camp. Parents are encouraged to review these
guidelines with their children.
