This is the form of Islamic greeting, meaning “Peace be on hi you.” The response is: wa ‘alaykumussalam (wa rahmatulla wa barakatuhu), meaning “and on you be the peace (and mercy of Allah and His blessings).” The phrase ‘salamun alaykum’ occurs several times in the Quran. The Prophet Muhammad ∆ The Patie nt Man The Prophet Ayyub # (Job) was one of the great prophets of Allah, born in Damascus, Syria. He was a rich and prosperous man and had immense faith in Allah. People felt that the Prophet Ayyub was such a faithful follower of Allah because of his riches and that if his blessings were taken away, he would not remain as faithful and grateful to Allah. Allah put him to a test by destroying all his riches, servants and family and afflicted him with an illness which lasted for 18 years. But he remained patient and held fast to his faith in Allah. All this pleased Allah and He rewarded him more than before. 42 Dua at the Time of Distress There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the magnificent throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, and Lord of the earth and Lord of the glorious throne. O Allah!
