Week 26/27 Love Island The Only Way Is Essex Saturday - Thursday, times vary Sunday and Wednesday, 10pm Morse Weekend Formula E Championship Live * Saturday and Sunday, from 9.55am Saturday, 11.30am and 3pm Jordskott Wednesday, 10pm 27th June 3rd July 2015 Teen Titans Go! * ITV.com Monday - Friday, 4pm Week 26/27 27th June 3rd July 2015 Love Your Garden Tuesday 30th June, 8pm Alan Titchmarsh and the team continue the fifth series of the makeover show in which they transform unloved spaces into dream gardens for some very special people. In episode two, they visit Moorland in Somerset, an area which was devastated by the floods of 2014. There they surprise a couple whose lives – and garden – were turned upside down by the disaster. Sheila Colquhoun and her husband Alex were looking forward to retirement that year, but instead it turned out to be one of the worst of their lives. Firstly, Sheila was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a course of treatment which left her exhausted. Then, as she returned from hospital to convalesce, she woke up to find their house knee-deep in flood water. She was initially too weak to be evacuated, but as the waters rose it became unavoidable. Since then the couple have been homeless, staying in their grandchildren’s bedroom and a succession of rented properties – and Alex’s plans for retirement had to be put on hold. Now, as they have finally been able to move back into their home, Alex is about to retire and they are looking forward to celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, Alan and his gang have come to their rescue. Inspired by the classic American white picket fence style, the team set about transforming Sheila and Alex’s storm-wrecked garden into a picture perfect paradise that would not look out of place in Hollywood. Black Work Sunday 28th June, 9pm Sheridan Smith, Matthew McNulty, Douglas Henshall, Geraldine James and Phil Davis star in ITV’s new riveting three-part thriller. Sheridan Smith plays a policewoman whose world is thrown into turmoil when her husband, DS Ryan Gillespie (Kenny Doughty), is shot dead in mysterious circumstances. She resolutely sets out to discover who murdered him and has to confront difficult truths about her family life and her marriage in the course of her search for answers. PC Jo Gillespie (Smith) is devastated when her husband Ryan is found dead in an abandoned warehouse in Leeds. When she learns that Ryan was working undercover at the time of his death, her grief is compounded by shock. Ryan’s behaviour appears to have been erratic in the weeks before he died and Jo worries that senior officers of the Greater Yorkshire Police are intent on a cover-up. A gang member with links to Ryan is arrested and questioned, and with the chief suspect now in custody, the investigation into Ryan’s murder appears to have been wrapped up. But Jo still has doubts, and as she digs further into her husband’s undercover life, she encounters dark secrets on both sides of the law, which lead to a disturbing revelation about the man she married. ITV.com Week 26/27 27th June 3rd July 2015 Long Lost Family Wednesday 1st July, 9pm Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell present the series that aims to reunite family members after years of separation. This week’s programme features two stories of sisters who were kept while their brothers were given up for adoption. Elizabeth Wells and Janice Saunders are a mother and daughter united in the search for their son and brother, Brian. Aged 16, Elizabeth fell in love with a married man and became pregnant with Janice. Later, she fell pregnant again, but her boyfriend then returned to his wife, leaving Elizabeth alone and heartbroken. Elizabeth had to make the agonising decision to give up her baby son for adoption. Elizabeth has regretted it ever since and Janice felt guilty that she was able to stay with her mother, while her brother was not. Today, both mother and daughter are desperate to find Brian and rebuild their family unit. This episode also tells the story of 37-year-old Tracey Collins, who is desperate to find her missing brother. She was 17 when her mother told her that she had a brother called Thomas. Her father then revealed that he knew where Thomas was and made a promise to help Tracey find him. But the very night he made this revelation, Tracey’s father died, taking any information about her brother’s whereabouts to the grave with him. Determined not to miss another opportunity, Tracey has spent the last two decades trying to find Thomas. Surprise Surprise Sunday 28th June, 8pm Holly Willoughby presents the fourth series of the heartwarming family show which combines viewers’ touching real-life stories with the world of showbiz and entertainment. Holly revived Cilla Black’s classic show back in 2012, successfully bringing a fresh modern twist to the fondly remembered format. In this new version of the series, Holly and her team of celebrity roving reporters head out across the UK to give deserving members of the public the biggest surprise of their lives. The last series featured appearances from big-name guests including Welsh songstress Katherine Jenkins, global pop superstar Pharrell Williams, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and Peter Andre’s 60 Minute ITV.com Makeover team, who all gave their time as a thank you to some very special and inspirational members of the British public. The show is also renowned for its tear-jerking reunions as long-lost friends and family members are given the opportunity to meet again, often following many years apart. In the second episode in the series, Diversity put their unique twist on a ballroom dancing class in Blackpool to help a true friend. A helicopter ride brings one unsuspecting mother into the studio, and a family divided by a devastating illness are brought back together. Holly is helped by her assistants Mark Wright and Ashley Banjo. Week 26/27 27th June 3rd July 2015 The 7/7 Bombing: Survivors’ Stories * Tuesday 30th June, 9pm On the morning of July 7th 2005, four British-born suicide bombers launched an attack on London’s transport system. Within just one hour 52 people were killed and over 750 injured in the deadliest attack on the capital since the Blitz. On the tenth anniversary of the 7/7 London bombing, survivors, victims and rescuers remember the events of that morning. Combining the eyewitness testimony of more than 20 people, this documentary focuses on the hour between the first three explosions at 8.50am and the final explosion just before 9.50am in Tavistock Square. Speaking publicly about the experience for the first time is Ray Whitehurst (pictured), the driver of the Circle Line train devastated by a bomb at Edgware Road. Ray heard what sounded like a car door slam and felt his train lift off the tracks. Then he heard the screams of injured passengers in the carriage and on the track. David Gardner was one of the passengers on Ray’s train. He had been on his way to work in High Street Kensington, but four stops from his destination David was flung into the air by the force of the blast before landing in what seconds ago had been a normal tube carriage. Some of the survivors lost limbs and some walked away unscathed, but each and every one of them carries the indelible memories and images of that morning. Vicious Monday 29th June, 9pm The unashamedly wicked sitcom about the elderly warring gay couple who have shared a rented London flat for nearly half a century continues its second series with a stellar cast. Starring two knights of stage and screen, Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi, the plot follows the twilight years of over-the-hill actor Freddie – whose only claim to fame seems to have been that he once played a villain in Doctor Who – and former bar manager Stuart as they spend their time reading, checking on whether the dog is still alive and snapping at each other across their threadbare sofa. There is also the offscreen presence of Stuart’s mother Mildred, who until the end of series one truly believed that Freddie and her son were no more than just ITV.com flatmates. They are often joined by the eternally young-at-heart maneater Violet (Frances de la Tour) who does her best to keep the pair from each other’s throats, dizzy Penelope (Marcia Warren), with whom Stuart once had a very brief affair, grumpy Mason (Philip Voss) and their young neighbour upstairs Ash (Iwan Rheon). In episode five, Freddie and Stuart have a falling out, so Stuart moves in with Ash and Violet moves in with Freddie. But it is not long before the arrangement is driving the new flatmates up the wall. Violet and Ash put their heads together and come up with a plan to get things back to normal. Week 26/27 The Cube 27th June 3rd July 2015 Wednesday 1st July, 8pm The award-winning game show presented by Phillip Schofield continues its ninth series as two more contestants attempt to claim the £250,000 prize money on offer to whoever can beat the Cube. To have a chance of winning the jackpot, contestants face seven random trials of skill, dexterity, reaction, wit and wisdom, all of which take place in the intense environment of the Cube. Slow-motion cameras catch the action from all angles, and the special Gamefreeze cameras make time stand still, monitoring the players Matrixstyle. However, participants have some help at hand – each contestant has nine lives and can use Simplify or Trial Run once during their tests. Simplify, as its name suggests, eases the task's difficulty, while Trial Run gives each contestant the opportunity of a practice round to get to grips with the challenge. This first of this week's contestants is research midwife Claire, who hopes to win big so that she can buy a Winnebago to travel around Europe, while second contestant Kevin has set his sights on a new kitchen. Can either of this week's brave players beat the odds as well as the Cube and take home a cool quarter of a million pounds? Catchphrase Sunday 28th June, 7.15pm The classic game show which taught viewers to say what they see continues its third series with the latest host, Britain's Got More Talent and Big Star's Little Star presenter Stephen Mulhern. The show follows the rules of the original format, which sees three contestants go head-to-head each week in a bid to identify familiar phrases hidden in the animated clues. The phrases are represented by state-of-the-art 3D graphic animations. In a new twist for this 21st-century incarnation of the show, the pressure is more intense as one contestant is eliminated from the competition after the first round, leaving the two remaining players to battle it out as they attempt to reach the final. During the course of the show, the contenders must bank cash as they guess catchphrases correctly and can also win big money if they uncover the coveted bonus catchphrase. The final contestant will then get the chance to face the Super Catchphrase round in which they attempt to secure a massive £50,000. Stephen and the show's mascot Mr Chips welcome contestants Marilyn, Allan and Megan as they try their luck this week. ITV.com Week 26/27 Superhospital 27th June 3rd July 2015 Thursday 2nd July, 9pm This documentary series is set in the Royal Derby Hospital, where a million patients are treated each year and lives are saved every day of the week. The series focuses on the staff, from surgeons to security guards, from doctors to domestics, who all play their part in helping patients and keeping the hospital running. Through intimate and revealing footage, the series gets up close to the people who share their patients’ moments of joy and sadness. Episode two features hospital maintenance boys Martin and John (pictured), who double up as the fire and rescue team. Helicopters can’t land until the boys are in position, so when they get a call about an incoming emergency, they must drop everything and run. Susie is one of the hospital’s most experienced A&E consultants and works with both adults and children. One minute she is treating a man with a life-threatening haemorrhage, the next she is trying to understand why two-year-old Frank has been having fits. Susie reveals that even consultants can have self-doubt, but she’d rather ask for help from her colleagues than be an arrogant know-it-all! In the Macmillan unit, consultant Venkata is meeting one of the hospital’s newest inpatients, Glynn, who has just been diagnosed with a tumour in his lung. Only time will tell if the treatment will be successful and Venkata knows that there are difficult times ahead for Glynn and his family. Elsewhere in the hospital, consultant surgeon Arthur uses a Motown soundtrack to create a relaxed atmosphere in his theatre, housekeepers Collette and Sarah are keeping up spirits on the elderly care ward, and the domestic team reveal an unusual cleaning method. Love Island Saturday 27th June - Thursday 2nd July, times vary ITV2’s summer of romance continues as Love Island enters week four of its six-week run, presented by new X Factor cohost Caroline Flack. Caroline presides over the ultimate game of love in which a set of stunning singles get up to all sorts of fun, flirting and frolics in sun-kissed Majorca as they search for passion and romance – as well as a £50,000 prize. The original series featured a host of celebrities, but this time members of the public are living the high life in a plush villa. The girls – Rachel, Lauren, Zoe, Hannah, Danielle and Jessica – and the boys – Jordan, Luis, Jon, Joshua, Chris and Omar – will doubtless be having lots of fun in the sun, but in order to remain in their paradise, the singles will have to win the hearts of the public as well. Caroline will be throwing plenty of surprises at the group, and ITV.com will catch up with each of the departing cast members as the public decides it is time for them to leave the island for good. Will any real connections be made or will the pairings turn out to be nothing more than holiday flings? So far in the series, Mancunian Italian twins John and Tony (pictured) – two charmers who have been brought in to spice up proceedings – have ruffled a few feathers, while the recent arrival of new girls Naomi and Daisy threw the villa into chaos after a shock announcement that they would be speeddating the remaining boys and then picking those they liked the most for themselves! Week 26/27 27th June 3rd July 2015 The Vampire Diaries * Wednesday 1st July, 10.50pm The sixth season of the US supernatural drama series concludes this week on ITV2. Co-created by teen drama king Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek) and based on novels by LJ Smith, the series tells the story of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), a resident of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. When she falls in love with a centuries-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), she is pulled into a dark underworld of vampires, werewolves and other supernatural goings-on. Elena’s ongoing attraction to Stefan’s dark, brooding brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has only added to the teen’s problems. In the last episode of season six, titled I’m Thinking of You All the While, Elena is in jeopardy when an uninvited guest turns up. Meanwhile, Bonnie (Kat Graham) has to take matters into her own hands when she is put on the receiving end of a fiendish plot. Damon is faced with the most difficult decision of his life, and Stefan finally realises just how far his mother will go to reunite the family. The Only Way Is Essex Sunday 28th June and Wednesday 1st July, 10pm The award-winning reality show continues its fifteenth series. After kicking off with two special overseas episodes at their favourite home from home – the sun-soaked resort of Marbella – the gang return once again to home shores and the land of nail bars, wine bars, flash cars and designer gear. There will be all the usual fun, drama, partying, gossip and romance viewers have come to expect from the show as the Essex regulars come back having soaked up as much sun, sea and sex as possible during their jaunt. The curtain fell on series fourteen with Arg and Lydia finally deciding to settle down, Jess and Dan E wondering whether they acted too rashly over their split, Jake continuing in his quest to win Chloe L back, and Elliott and Chloe facing life apart as he made plans for a permanent move back to Spain. Will these issues have been resolved during the show’s most recent break, or will they have spilled over into the gang’s holiday? After their disastrous and drama-filled excursion to Tenerife last year, the group will surely be hoping for a more harmonious holiday this time around. ITV.com Week 26/27 27th June 3rd July 2015 Morse Weekend Saturday 27th June and Sunday 28th June, from 9.55am ITV3 are showing a weekend of classic episodes of the Inspector Morse series starring the late John Thaw. The very first episode, The Dead of Jericho, sees Morse team up with his future partner Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately) to investigate the case of an attractive woman found dead at her home. All the evidence points to suicide, but Morse is convinced that he is dealing with a murder. In The Wolvercote Tongue, Morse is called in to investigate when a wealthy American tourist is found dead in her hotel, apparently the victim of a heart attack. But the Oxford detective discovers that her death is somehow linked to the disappearance from the Ashmolean Museum of a priceless Anglo-Saxon antiquity. In Death Is Now My Neighbour, a young woman is shot through her kitchen window at close range and few fellow residents can think of any motive for her murder. In The Wench Is Dead, while on sick leave after a spell in hospital, Morse investigates the murder of a young woman who was killed in 1859, and becomes convinced that the three men hanged for her murder were innocent. And in the last ever episode, The Remorseful Day, the year-long Formula E Championship Live * Saturday 27th June, 11.30am and 3pm investigation into the murder of a woman in a quiet Cotswold village is revitalised with the promise of new evidence. Morse returns to full duties, but what exactly is the state of his health? The inaugural FIA Formula season concludes this week on ITV4 with the final two races in London taking place in a circuit around Battersea Park. The series has featured nine thrilling rounds in some glamorous locations on both sides of the Atlantic, and London will be a fitting finale for the world’s first electric car racing series. The 2.92km course has been designed using the existing perimeter roads of the park – a mixture of fast straights, high-speed bends and challenging chicanes and braking zones. Currently leading the standings is the Brazilian driver Nelson Piquet with 128 points with his fellow countryman Lucas Di Grassi in second place with 111 and Swiss driver Sebastien Buemi in third place with 105 points. In the last round in Moscow, Lucas Di Grassi took pole position with Piquet second and Buemi third. As London sees the qualifying round on Saturday morning followed by the main race later that day, there is ample opportunity for changes in the standings with enough points up for grabs to ensure an exciting end to the series.
