ITINERARY
DAY 1
Depart from Johannesburg, connect at Sao Paulo by 15h50 and then fly to Lima Peru,
where we will be met on our arrival and transferred to our 5 star Hotel close to the
airport for the night.
DAY 2
After breakfast we will check out of the hotel and transfer back to the airport to board
our flight to Cuzco (10,500 ft) the colourful ancient capital of the Inca Empire. We will
be met at our arrival and transferred to the Jose Antonio hotel. There will be some time
to adjust to the change in altitude and in the afternoon we embark on our private tour
of Cuzco, where we take our visits to all the sites at our own pace giving us time for
silent meditation and reflection. We will visit the Temple of the Sun, Korikancha and
Sacsayhuaman, an impressive piece of Incan architecture which represents the puma’s
head, Cuzco having been laid out in the shape of the puma. We also experience Puca
Pucara, Qenqo and Tambomachay, the private baths or fountains of the Incan nobles
and priests, that receive water from a spring which has flowed for hundreds of years
of which the source is unknown. We then see Cusilluchayoc, an ancient shrine. We will
then have a welcome dinner with the traditional music of the Andeans.
DAY 3
After waking up to the magnificent views and fresh air, we finish our breakfasts and
venture to the beautiful Sacred Valley that houses the Urubamba River. We visit the
richly colourful Pisaq market and ruins. We experience Ollantaytambo, the Sanctuary
of the Wind where we receive blessings from Wayra meaning wind - guardian of the
site. Then we visit the Temple of the Condor, which is the powerful totem of the
HanaPacha, the upper world and the sacred and ancient Sun Temple. Enjoy a
delicious buffet lunch at the Sacred Valley and time to roam around and take in
all the energies of the sites. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4
This is the day of the Inti Raymi
Festival, in honour of the winter
solstice or the solar new year for
the town of Cuzco, whose main
cult object was the God Inti (the
Sun). In Inca times it was a
religious ceremony but now it’s
a theatrical representation which
is performed in the Quechua
language. The celebration will
begin at the Temple of the Sun
(Qoricancha) and then continues
to Sacsayhuaman, where we
connect with our personal power.
DAY 5
After breakfast we take a first class bus offering a superior panoramic view of the entire
ride up to the magnificent Machu Picchu (7,700 ft), one of the most sacred places on
earth! We also visit the Temple of Condor, Temple of the Three Windows and the famous
spiritual center of the site, Intihuatana meaning Hitching Post of The Sun. Overnight at the
Hatuchay Tower Hotel.
DAY 6
Later in the morning, we have the wonderful opportunity to climb the Huayna Picchu
meaning Young Peak, where we will conduct our own private ceremony and then
experience the Temple of the Moon, filled with sacred energies to connect with. We
have now experienced all the natural elements of the sun, wind and moon. So it’s almost
obligatory to lastly indulge in the powerful healing properties of the Andean hot springs.
We return to Cuzco for the night.
DAY 7
After breakfast we take a fairly long and scenic bus ride to Puno. Along the way we
stop and visit Andahuaylillas, a chapel exhibiting 16th and 17th century artworks,
Raqchi, Temple for the supreme God of the Incas – Wiracocha. We will stop at Sicuani,
an exclusive restaurant for an Andean buffet lunch and then carry on to
La Raya, the highest point along the ride, where snow peaked mountains and the
unspoiled countryside can be appreciated. We finally see Pukara which is one of the
first archeological complexes in a grand pyramidal shape dating back to 4000 years BC.
We then check into Casa Andina Private Collection in Puno for the night.
DAY 8
Wake up in the morning to view the magnificent Lake Titicaca! We will take a boat ride
and connect with the energies of MamaCocha, the Mother Lake, to the Floating Islands
of Uros. These islands are made up of totora reeds which grow in the lake and are
named after the Uros People who live there. Overnight at Casa Andina.
DAY 9
Today we have the special privilege of experiencing the inter dimensional doorway of
Aramu Muru, passing the Valley of the Spirits, and experiencing the Inca’s Sun Seat.
It is a full day of absorbing the powerful healing energies of the Tonohuiri and
Chucuito with lunch included. Overnight at our Puno Hotel.
DAY 10
After breakfast we transfer to the Puno airport to board our flight to Lima. Along the
way we will stop and visit the Sillustani ruins, with its mysterious circular burial towers
over-looking Lake Umayo. We transfer to our 5 Star Sol de Oro Hotel in Lima and enjoy
a fun farewell dinner and folk show to celebrate the completion of our healing,
rejuvenating and powerfully soulful journey.
