All Saints is a tithing parish, giving of our time, talent,
and treasure so as to give glory to God.
2nd Collection next Sun., Nov. 1, is for the Building Fund.
Offertory envelopes: The Nov. 1 envelope in the offertory
envelope mailing for Sept.–Oct. is actually the “All Saints”
envelope to be used for your regular Sunday giving. We
used the All Saints Day imprint on the envelope since that
is our parish’s patronal feast day. We included it in the
Sept.–Oct. mailing, because to include it in the Nov.–Dec.
mailing would have doubled our postage expense!
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All
Souls’ Day), Mon., Nov. 2. Each year All Souls’ Day is
a day of special prayer for all those who have died. We
pray that those souls in need of perfection may swiftly pass
through their purification and come into the presence of
God. It is a grace of the Communion of Saints that we can
have this special relationship of prayer with those who have
departed this life. The Mass schedule for All Souls’ Day is
as follows: 7:00 and 8:30 am. A Mass of Remembrance, our
parish’s annual Memorial Mass, will be held at 7:30 pm.
This Memorial Mass is to remember and pray for those
who have died during this past year.
Daylight Savings time ends and we resume Standard
Time on the first Sunday in November (Nov. 1). Clocks
are set back one hour at 2:00 am local daylight time, which
becomes 1:00 am local standard time. You can sleep in and
still get to Mass on time! Even better, why not come a few
minutes early to Mass and prepare yourself to hear God’s
word and receive Jesus in Holy Communion?

Boys and girls at least 10 years old and in 5th grade or
above who would like to be Altar Servers, for either the
English or Spanish Masses, need to attend two (out of
three) training sessions this fall. A parent should plan to
attend these sessions with their child and the session will
last about an hour. If you have any questions, please call

What to Expect: Servers can expect to serve one weekend
Mass per month. Mass assignments are based upon each
server’s stated preference. We are in need of servers who
would be available for daily Masses as well. Service at
daily Mass would be more frequent.

suburban Wash., DC parish, seeks full-time Director
of Sacred Music and Liturgical Ministries to lead an
established, dynamic, faith-filled ministry team.
Director to oversee the parish’s liturgical music
program, direct adult choir, train cantors, coordinate
with other choir directors, and assist in planning
funerals and weddings. Also to work with Pastor to
supervise / coordinate liturgical ministries in the parish

Christ is calling us to share the Good News of our faith
with others in the “new evangelization.” To succeed, every
member is called to be a steward of this mission and of our
parish.
This weekend is commitment weekend. In the preceding
weeks, you have heard about our many parish ministries,
our stewardship program and how you can participate.
In addition, special information has been mailed to every
home in the parish. If you did not receive this information,
there are some letters on the tables near the entrances of
the church.
We realize that every commitment made is truly a sacrificial
gift to God. We can never surpass the generosity of the
Lord, and this is our opportunity to say, “Thank you, Lord,
for all of our blessings.” Remember, a small sacrifice on
everyone’s part will make a big difference. Thank you.

The Knights of Columbus, Bishop J. Louis Flaherty
Assembly will hold our annual Veterans Day Dinner on
Sat., Nov. 7, at 6:30 pm. All are invited to the dinner to
honor our veterans. Cost is $15 per person, military (active,
retired or active reserve) in uniform will be admitted for
free along with a guest. Reservations are requested. RSVP:

The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus are again
supporting Wreaths Across America this year. The goal of
the program is to remember and honor all service members
buried in national cemeteries by placing wreaths on each
and every grave marker during the Christmas Season. You
can support this effort by sponsoring a wreath that will be
placed either at Arlington, Quantico, or Culpepper National
Cemeteries. Wreath sponsorship is $15 for each wreath.
The Fourth Degree will be at the church exits after each
Mass the weekends before and after Veterans Day, Nov.
7/8 and 14/15 to help you sponsor a wreath. Please support
this worthy cause and the local Fourth Degree Knights
of Columbus. The wreaths will arrive at the cemeteries
by truck and be placed by volunteers on Dec. 12; if you
would like to participate simply be at one of the national
cemeteries on that Saturday morning.
The Knights of Columbus is hosting the next American Red
Cross Blood Drive on Sat. Nov. 14 from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm

Sick will be available for the seriously ill or those with the

The third season of our parish concert series kicks off with a performance by one of the
Washington area’s premiere men’s a-cappella ensembles, The Suspicious Cheese Lords.
Founded in 1996, the Lords specialize in sacred choral music of the high Renaissance. The
Cheese Lords present a complete Mass setting crafted from five different dead bodies (of work),
sutured together with the threads of their precursory melodies. The program features selections
from Masses by Ludwig Senfl, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Jean Mouton, and Elzear
Genet (Carpentras), each of which were first recorded by the Cheese Lords. Hear how a war
song, a love song, a Gregorian chant, and a polyphonic motet can be dug up and reanimated
into..."FrankenMass”!” The event is free, and a free-will offering will be taken. All are welcome!





los sacramentos de Primera Reconciliación y Primera Comunión
tienen que asistir a una Reunión de Registro. En esta reunión, los
padres inscribirán a sus hijos para los sacramentos y recibirán
información sobre los requisitos del programa.

niño (incluso si el niño fue bautizado en All Saints), la cuota de
inscripción sacramental es de $ 25.00 y necesitamos el nombre y
dirección de la iglesia del bautismo.

E ntrenamiento para M onaguillos :
N uevos y R egreso
Monaguillos — Los niños y las niñas de 10 años que están
comenzando quinto grado en adelante y les gustaría servir
como Monaguillos, ya sea para las misas en español o Inglés,
tienen que asistir a dos (de tres) sesiones de entrenamiento
en este otoño. Los padres deben asistir a estas sesiones
con su hijo y cada sesión tendrá una duración alrededor de
una hora. Si usted tiene alguna pregunta, por favor llame a
Padre Juan en la oficina parroquial (703-368-4500).
Cuando sirven: Los monaguillos pueden servir durante
las misas de fin de semana. Los horarios para las misas
se basan en las elecciones de cada servidor. Necesitamos
monaguillos que estén disponibles para las misas diarias.

Caridades Católicas ofrece clases de inglés y de ciudadanía
de lunes a jueves por las mañanas (9:00-10:30) o por las
tardes (6:00-7:30 o 7:30-9:00). Inscríbase el 16, 17, o
18 de noviembre de 10:00 am-12:00 pm o 6:00-8:00 pm.
Ofrecemos varios niveles de clases. El precio de las clases
es $125.00 por el semestre e incluye el libro. Ofrecemos
clases también los sábados de 10:00 am-12:00 pm y el costo
