Middle Years students are required to successfully complete classes in each of the eight subject
areas: Language A, Language B, Humanities, Mathematics, Sciences, Art, Technology and
Physical Education during the freshmen and sophomore years at Millard North High School.
In the final year of the program, each student completes a personal project. The personal project is a significant piece of work that is the product of the student’s own initiative and creativity.
Each project must reflect a personal understanding of the areas of interaction. The five areas
include Human Ingenuity, Community and Service, Health and Social, Environment, and Approaches to Learning.
Students are expected to choose their project, which can take many forms, and take the process
through to completion under the supervision of a teacher in the school or a community member.
This involves:
 Planning
 Research
High degree of personal reflection
The personal project is assessed by teachers against a set of IB assessment criteria.

2014 graduating seniors received their academic awards at Senior Honor’s Night held this past Spring.
The faculty of Millard North High School congratulates you on your excellent academic accomplishments during
the 2013-14 school year. We ask all academic award winners to stop in the Administration/Activities Office at
Millard North to pick up your academic award.
Again, congratulations on your academic performance during the past school year. Your challenge: to perform at
this same level for higher during the 2014-15 school year.
