Eid –e-Ghadeer Facts
The date of Eid-e-Ghadeer

was 18 Zul-Hijjah,10 Hijri.
After his last hajj, Prophet
(s.a.w) and the crowd of
people reached a place
called Ghadeer-e-khumm.
Here the following Quranic
verse was revealed:
“O Apostle! Deliver what has been
sent down to you from your Lord: and
if you don’t do it, you have not
delivered His message(at all); and
Allah will protect you from
people………………”Qura’an 5:67
Upon receiving the verse, the
Prophet(s.a.w) stopped at the
pond of Khumm.
He wanted everyone to gather
here.
The crowd grew to 124,000.
He ordered Salman to use rocks and
camel saddles to make a mimber.
The Prophet (s.a.w) spent 5 hours at
this place.
And he recited nearly 100 verses of
the Holy Qura’an.
He gave them a long speech.
The Prophet (s.a.w) held up the hand
of Imam Ali (a.s)
And said,” Mann kunto Maula fa
ha’aza Aliyun Maula”
