Depending on the device you are using, go to either the Apple or Google Play store. Once there, enter “TRACS” into the search bar to find the app and download to your device. The app is FREE and may only be used by NAPA TRACS customers. TM Q. Does the TRACS VIN Capture App decode the VIN on my device? A. Yes, the VIN is instantly decoded and displayed on your phone and sent to TRACS where you may save it, associate it with a new or existing customer within your TRACS database Q. After I scan a VIN, can I add a customer or vehicle name with it? A. Yes, you may enter a customer name, tag number, mileage, repair symptoms and other notes about the vehicle if you need and these will also be sent to TRACS along with the vehicle information. Q. What can I do with a VIN after it’s scanned? A. You have several options once you scan a VIN and send it to TRACS including: 1. Saving the vehicle to your TRACS database along with either new or existing customer information. 2. Using the VIN to start a new estimate or RO for either a new or existing customer. Q. Do you need a special login and password to use the TRACS VIN Capture App? A. Yes, after loading the app on your phone, you will need to enter a unique code which may be found in your TRACS Parts Catalog file. Once you enter this code into the TRACS app on your phone, you may begin scanning VIN’s and sending them to TRACS. Q. How many captured VIN’s can I save on my phone? A. There is no limit, however you may delete VIN’s from your phone once you have sent them to TRACS Q. How long does it take for a scanned VIN to appear in TRACS? A. Scanned VIN’s appear immediately in the TRACS catalog section in the “Scanned VIN’s” area. From here you may transfer the VIN to TRACS.
