ALWAYS HERE FOR OUR COMMUNITY 2015 Fall Program Guide HANOVER AREA YMCA SOUTH HANOVER YMCA LITTLESTOWN YMCA August 31, 2015- December 19, 2015 www.hanoverymca.org WELCOME TO YOUR YMCA The Hanover Area YMCA has been serving the Hanover area over 47 years by offering programs and services that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We take great pride in delivering quality customer service, clean facilities, and providing program and services that fulfill the needs of youth, adults, and families in our community. OUR MISSION To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. OUR VISION When you join the Y, you are a part of a community organization whose goal is to have no child or adult turned away based on the inability to pay for our programs and services. Each year we conduct the Kids Come First Annual Support Campaign that enables our YMCA to raise funds to help those in need to have a YMCA experience. In 2014 we provided 1,652 scholarships to children and adults because of caring individuals, businesses, and corporations that wanted the YMCA to make a difference in our community. Thank you for choosing to be a part of our cause driven organization. Our staff looks forward to serving you and encourages each one of you to take advantage of all of the benefits and value of your YMCA membership. Highlighted below are our programs and leagues, but more specific information can be found on our website; www.hanoverymca.org. Our options for youth can be categorized into two formats; programs and leagues. Programs are coached by paid YMCA employees and participants practice once per week and focus on learning the fundamentals of the sport. Each participant in the programs receive a tee-shirt and participation award. Leagues are coordinated by a YMCA employee but participants are placed on teams based on their age and coached by volunteers who are trained and supervised by the coordinator. Practices occur at least once per week (depending on the age) and games are played on Saturday mornings. Each participant receives a team tee-shirt prior to the first game and a participation award at the end of the season. It is very important for league participants’ parents to review the PROGRAM NAME DATES TIMES WEE KICKS SOCCER 8/31-10/5 WEE KICKS SOCCER website and registration forms for special information including parent meetings, coaches meetings, etc. Program participants’ parents need only arrive at their first scheduled practice. Most of our programs and leagues practice and play games at the Hanover facility, but we are offering off-site program and league practice locations in South Hanover and Littlestown for the convenience of our participants and their parents. The Littlestown location will be the borough and Y fields. These off-site programs and leagues will be structured exactly the same as the Hanover branch programs with the same staff, same rules, etc. League teams that practice at the off-site locations will still play games at the Hanover branch. For convenience purposes if an email is provided on the registration form, updates related to the program including cancellations will be sent out. We WILL NOT send you spam or mass emails unrelated to your child’s program!
