PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
First term report cards have gone home and students
have done very well overall. There are still a number
of Incompletes which means students have
outstanding assignments that must be completed
before a mark can be assigned. Students should check
with individual teachers to find out if/when their
Incomplete is converted to a letter grade.
Planning 10 students are working hard on this online
course. I would like to remind all grade 10 students
that this course needs to be completed this semester.
We encourage parents to view their son or daughter's
progress on line. The percentage completed and the
current mark is available on the Planning 10 @KOOL
web site link available through our NorKam web
page. http://nkss.sd73.bc.ca/
Tuesday, November 30 was our annual First Nations
Pot Luck Dinner. It was well attended, the food was
superb, and the entertainment was great. I would like
to thank Don Bowser, Brenda Celesta, Kaida
McCauley and Brenda Ross for organizing this year’s
event.

THANK YOU FROM NORKAM STUDENTS
Thompson Nicola Regional District sponsors 25
Western Canada Theatre ticket packages to students
at local schools who are passionate about theatre but
cannot afford to attend. We are excited to say that
NorKam Secondary received the gift of five ticket
packages to give to our students. NorKam Secondary
graciously thanks the TNRD for their generosity of
the ticket packages and will pass them on to our
students to enjoy.
2011 GRADUATES
Are you planning to attend college/university next
year? If so, please remember to complete a PostSecondary Institute choices form on the Student
Secure Web at the Ministry of Education’s website
below.
www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student
What is a PSI Form?
-The PSI (Post-Secondary Institutes Choices Form)
allows the Ministry of Education permission to make
available to any post-secondary institute of your
choice access to your final secondary school transcript.
-This is a good idea for anyone who knows that they
will be going to university/college right after
graduation, but, they are not sure where they will
attend. Most of the larger well-attended institutions
appreciate this convenient tool as it allows them to
view your marks right away rather than wait for the
student/former school to provide a hard-copy
transcript. Taking the time to complete this simple
process will save you and the student, time and hassle
when being considered by a university, but are on
hold until you provide a certified transcript.
-If you are unsure or encounter problems, please
make an appointment with your counsellor.
NorKam staff members celebrate the completion of Movember; men working together to combat prostate cancer.

complete will be asked to attend an afternoon
Planning 10 Work Session on January 19th.

on Wednesday January 12 at 7:00 pm in the Library.
We will have photos from our last student trip, as well
as a student to share his experiences. Please bring a
parent. See Mrs. Simpson in the Counselling Office
