Sven Nykvist was born in Sweden on December 3, 1922 and
died September 20, 2006.
Over 120 films
Won two Academy Awards (Cries and Whispers, 1973 & Fanny
and Alexander, 1983 -- both with Ingmar Bergman as
Director)

and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography for The
Unbearable Lightness of Being.
In 2003, Nykvist was judged by the International
Cinematographers Guild as one of history’s ten most
influential cinematographers.
