Your outpatient appointment at Fiona Stanley Hospital
Your outpatient appointment
at Fiona Stanley Hospital
Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is the major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area and is
designed to meet the growing needs of communities south of Perth and across the State.
FSH operates a number of outpatient clinics on site. As an outpatient you should have received
a letter detailing your appointment information. Please check your letter carefully for specific
details of your appointment.
If you are unable to attend your outpatient
appointment, follow the directions outlined in
your appointment letter or contact Outpatient
Direct on 1300 855 275 as soon as possible.
Please see your General Practitioner (GP) if
your condition gets worse before your specialist
appointment or in between appointments. Your
GP will be able to contact medical staff at the
hospital for advice or can help you decide if you
should go to the emergency department.
Please do not attend your outpatient appointment
if you have any of the following symptoms:
• Flu like symptoms eg. fever, cough or a
sore throat
• Sudden onset of vomiting and diarrhoea
• Generalised unexplained rash
You should visit your GP and reschedule your
clinic appointment.
What should I bring?
• Outpatient letter
• Any relevant x-rays or laboratory results
• Any aids you may require
(spectacles, hearing aids etc)
• Medicare card
• Healthcare card
• Repatriation benefits card
• Immunisation records
• For paediatric patients the primary
caregiver (parent or legal guardian only)
must attend the appointment
• A list of any questions you want to ask
the specialist.
Friends, relatives or carers are also welcome
to attend the appointment with you.
Transport and parking
The hospital is a large site - the equivalent
of four city blocks. You should plan your
journey to determine the best access to your
outpatient clinic appointment.
Public transport
The hospital is a 10 minute walk from Murdoch
Train Station, and buses regularly run between
the station and the hospital. You should visit
the Transperth website www.transperth.
wa.gov.au or call 13 62 13 for individual public
transport options.
Taxi ranks
Taxi ranks can be found on Barry Marshall
Parade and Robin Warren Drive. If arriving by
taxi you are free to use any of the patient set
down areas.
Pedestrians and cyclists
FSH is easily accessed by a network of
pedestrian and cycle paths. Bike racks are
located outside the main entry and the eastern
entry of the main hospital.
Patient set down
There are short term patient set down areas
throughout the site. A patient set down area
with direct access to the main entry is located
off Robin Warren Drive and easily identified by
the red coloured bitumen.
Parking
Paid parking is available in visitor car parks
for an unlimited amount of time. Car parks
are located at both the eastern and western
ends of the hospital. In some circumstances,
if you have frequent appointments you may be
eligible for a discounted rate and should speak
to staff or contact the help desk on
(08) 6152 2222.
ACROD parking bays can be found in
every car park and are located closest to the
pedestrian access ways. Please follow the
disabled access signs to the hospital.
Car parks 1 and 2 provide best access to the
main hospital and car park 5 provides direct
access to the State rehabilitation service via a
footbridge on level 2.
Cancer Centre outpatients should park in car
park 1 to access the designated entrance that
is found under the education building.
Free motorcycle parking bays are located in
car park 1 only.
Oversize vehicles
(State rehabilitation service only)
An oversize vehicle set down is located off
Fiona Wood Road at the State rehabilitation
service. Parking for oversized vehicles is
located in car park 8 and is accessed via an
intercom system at the entrance.
