Netball l The tutor teams are led by our progress leaders who ensure consistency across the school. l Each tutor group represents one of six houses which encourages co-operation and team work across the year groups. This is designed to work in conjunction with our rewards system to maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement. b u l c g n i b m i Cl 2 9% in l All Year 7 students have weekly support sessions with their sixth form buddy. student has a member of staff as a personal mentor. crease in number of the Premium Pupil gaining 5 students A* including -C grades Engli & Maths. sh l Each OFSTED QUOTES: l Highly The school works hard to fulfill it’s aim of developing the whole person and this is particularly evident in the highly successful Young Enterprise teams. l Special As a result of the good teaching, strong guidance and the many opportunities to participate and lead throughout the school, the students are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage in their education, employment or training. qualified staff in our special needs department develop opportunities for students to reach their full potential as they progress through school. arrangements can be made for those students who are gifted and talented in sport, enabling them to organise school work around thier training demands. l The library and ICT facilities are available after school. l We encourage independent learning and all students have remote access to their work and resources whilst working at home. l The secure Parent Portal allows access to reports and further information. Expectations are clear and used systematically, and the recent introduction of an on-line praise system has been particularly effective. The real-time display of house points on the screens around the school motivates the students. They have access to good quality, independent advice about how to decide on their future careers and the opportunities open to them after they leave school. Gifted and Talented D a nce I am a swimmer and rower and train most days. Southfield gives me the opportunity to do my homework during school due to my flexible timetable, which will benefit me in the future. All of the staff are encouraging towards our goals and support our activities both in and out of school.
