Trading Post (“FCF Store”): Our regular Trading Post will be set up during this event. You
will find a nice selection of frontier equipment, patches and outfit items you may want to
purchase. Also the membership may now place items in the store on consignment. A
consignment fee of 10% will be added to the price of an item. Only good quality items, no
garage sale stuff! Items must be picked up at the end of the event, as the store will not be
responsible for lost items.
VERY IMPORTANT!
Frontier Auction: Our frontier auction is not only a lot of fun but it is also a good way to
raise funds for Missions. The success or failure of the auction solely depends on you! Please
bring good items to donate. We would really like to see donations of some of the items
you have been making at your chosen frontier craft, or items you have outgrown or no longer
use. These items not only result in some lively bidding, but they also tend to encourage others to
develop their own frontier trade. A minimum non-refundable deposit of $5.00 or 10%
(whichever is larger) will be required to hold an item. Items will only be held until the next
event in the store. At that time, if they are not picked up, they will be resold.
Permission Slips and Medical Treatment Forms: Please make sure you have signed
permission slips and medical release forms for all boys under age 18. Medical release forms
should be in an envelope and readily available in the event of an emergency. Copies are
acceptable.
Staff Applications and Reference Forms: ALL LEADERS MUST SUBMIT STAFF
APPLICATION FORMS AND TWO REFERENCE FORMS NOT LESS THAN TWO
WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. LEADERS WHO ARE NOT ON FILE WILL NOT
BE ALLOWED INTO THE CAMP. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING
THIS PLEASE CONTACT COMMANDER JOHN GINGERICH.
Camp Setup: to help maintain the Frontier themes of this event please make an effort to keep all
modern camping equipment out of sight. This would include all plastics, including rope,
aluminum, coolers, gas lanterns and stoves, flashlights, etc. There will be an area for modern
tents and campsites.
Parking: After unloading your gear at the campsite, please return your vehicle to the designated
parking area as soon as possible.
Medical Emergencies: All campers with medical problems should be taken to the First Aid
Station for immediate attention. Please register all prescription medications with the individual
assigned to the First Aid Station. This will aid in emergencies and prevent any questions of
controlled substance abuse.
Grizzly Trail: All Rangers who have successfully completed the requirements of the Grizzly
Trail will need to have a completed Grizzly Trail Application.
Questions should be directed to Anthony Buttacy (417) 894-8319.
Swap Time: Bring along your patches, craft projects or other trade items you have to swap.
You will always find someone to trade with you. Leaders and older boys, please remember that
many of the younger boys may not understand the value of some items. It is up to you to make
sure all trades are fair.
FCF Skills: All members should have or should be developing a frontier skill or trade to
pursue. There are numbers to chose from. We are encouraging all members to have or trade to
demonstrate at this event. Young bucks make good apprentices.

TRAPPERS BRIGADE PROGRAM
FRONTIERSMEN CAMPING FELLOWSHIP
INTRODUCTION TO THE TRAPPERS BRIGADE
In keeping with the Royal Ranger Pledge which states, “With God’s help I will do my best to
serve God, my church, and my fellow man,” the Trappers Brigade, a special auxiliary group
within the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship, was established during the 1978 National Royal
Ranger Council.
The purpose of the Trappers Brigade is to promote Christian service among the FCF members by
encouraging their involvement and participation in service to their church and fellowman. The
Trappers Brigade encourages involvement of FCF members not only in their local church but
also in their community (e.g., needs, projects, organizations) and outside its boundaries, in this
way extending their influence and testimony.
REQUIREMENTS
To participate in the Trappers Brigade program an FCF member must meet the following
qualifications:

Be an FCF member in good standing with your chapter and district. "Member in good
standing" is defined as having participated in at least one FCF event or activity during the
last 12 months and being actively involved in a charted Royal Rangers outpost.

Be actively involved in your local church, faithful in church attendance, tithing, missions
giving; and honoring to church leadership.
Any FCF member who meets the above qualifications is encouraged to participate in Trappers
Brigade.
The FCF member need not have received his Buckskin or Wilderness status to qualify.
Levels of Recognition
The Trappers Brigade provides three sequential levels of recognition to reward members for their
service hours. Members attain each level as they accumulate the required number of hours in
each of four categories – outpost, church, community, and missions.
Company Trapper
To attain Company Trapper status a member must accumulate a minimum of 60 hours of service,
dividing the hours into these categories:
• Outpost – 20 hours
• Church – 20 hrs.
• Community – 10 hrs.
• Missions – 10 hrs.
Bourgeois Trapper
To attain Bourgeois (pronounced boohz-wah’) Trapper status, a member must accumulate a
minimum of 120 hours of
• Outpost – 40 hours
• Church – 40 hrs.
• Community – 20 hrs.
• Missions – 20 hrs.
Free Trapper
To attain Free Trapper status a member must accumulate a minimum of 180 hours of service,
dividing the hours into these categories:
• Outpost – 60 hours
• Church – 60 hrs.
• Community – 30 hrs.
• World Missions – 30 hrs.
For each additional sixty hours earned according to the above distribution, a Free Trapper
receives a numeral to be placed on his Free Trapper insignia. This numeral represents the number
of times he has reached Free Trapper status. For example, when he has accumulated a total of
240 hours he would receive a numeral 2. At 300 hours he would receive a numeral 3, etc
Qualifying Activities
Qualifying service hours are those where a member volunteers his time (excluding travel time)
with no consideration for wages, in the categories of outpost, church, community, or missions.
Service hours must be reported to your chapter each year to qualify. Young Bucks must complete
the service under the supervision of an adult leader.
• Outpost (20 hours): Service hours beyond weekly meetings, regular outings, and training. The
outpost coordinator preapproves the efforts of the member to insure the service helps the outpost
accomplish its “evangelize-equip-empower” mission.
• Church (20 hours): Service hours beyond the outpost. The pastor responsible for overseeing
Royal Rangers in the local church preapproves the efforts of the member to insure the service
helps the church accomplish the pastoral vision.
• Community (10 hours): Service hours beyond the outpost and the church. These efforts will
represent the church in the community. The service rendered must be coordinated with the
pastoral leadership in advance to best represent the church in the community. Involving as many
Royal Rangers as possible is encouraged, especially when done in conjunction with earning
leadership merits of any color.
• Missions (10 hours): Service hours that specifically benefit Royal Rangers’ priority missions
initiatives- Royal Rangers International, Pathfinder Missions, BGMC Master’s Toolbox, and
Speed the Light. Visit the national Royal Rangers ministry Web sites for links to these ministry
Web sites and for ways to get involved. While hours devoted to other ministries is worthwhile,
only hours devoted to one or more of these four ministries may be counted as missions hours for
Trappers Brigade. (Note: In a non-AG outpost, members should support the middle and high
school-age missions program of their denomination.)
