Homeschool Enrichment classes provide supplemental instruction to complement at-home schooling efforts. From Applied Physics
and Greek Mythology to Multicultural Arts and World Literature, these courses have a strong reputation among local and regional

History
EDP239 Comparative Religion for Teens
The focus of this class is to provide understanding and education
for different religions throughout the world. The history, practices
and in some cases the founding figures of Hinduism, Buddhism,
Islam including Sufism, and Judaism will be explored. Included
will be brief explanations of Taoism, Confucianism, Zoroastrianism,
the Yoruba belief in Africa, and the Pagan Wheel of the Year. By
learning and becoming more comfortable with other religions, we
no longer see people as the “other” and we can treat others the
way we ourselves would like to be treated.

EDP320 The After Life of Ancient Civilizations
– Egypt, Greece & Rome (ages 8-12)
Ancient mythology and how the dead were honored will be the
focus of this fascinating period of time. Discover how to interpret
Egyptian hieroglyphics and explore ancient relics. Find out the
significance of Scarab beetle charms, minotaurs, labyrinths, a
sarcophagus and ankhs, the headdress of a Pharaoh. Learn about
the history and importance of items created for the afterlife, then
build your own version of them!

KOC257 Right Brain Drawing Techniques:
You Can Draw! (ages 13-16)
Some might say the world of myth was ruled by men and that females
were second-class citizens with little to offer a world of heroes and
villains. Suz Thackston, the popular and energetic teacher for this class,
begs to differ. The myths are rich with tales of ordinary girls doing
extraordinary things, bad girls, sad girls, magical girls and demonic girls.
By far the most interesting mythical monsters are female. Come meet
them and learn how women helped to shape the world of the ancients
and lay the foundation for the world we enjoy today.
Take a journey through the line, which is the basis of all drawing.
Learn technical skills and experiment at the same time. We’ll
learn and practice right-brain exercises so you can tap into your
“other half” and stretch your skills. Work in basic materials such as
graphite, colored pencil, ink and paint. Then, combine your learned
skills with new and exciting ways to mix media. You’ll draw from
real life as well as from imaginative ideas you develop yourself.

except with much less malice, cruelty and the will to dominate all
life. Hide from all the dark forces of Middle-earth in craftily created
Lorien cloaks and eat enough rations of Lembas bread to ensure
that you won’t go hungry on the long journey across Middle-earth.

motion can reveal about Superman’s strength, what Magneto can teach
about the nature of magnetism and how the super cooling properties
of Iceman can stop an adversary in his tracks. Take a look at the physics
behind the powers of some of the most popular superheroes.
