outstanding embryos and semen will provide rare purchasing opportunities that you will not have anywhere else.
The AHCAj Futurity is now in its third year. Any AHCA junior who purchases a breeding heifer at this year’s National Sale will have
the opportunity to be rewarded up to $1000 next year. The heifer needs to be exhibited by the junior at the 2016 National Show in
Denver and meet other guidelines. Contact AHCA or check out the details at highlandcattleusa.org on the juniors tab.

I
t is with great enthusiasm that we look forward to traveling west again to help conduct your National Sale in January. Denver is,
and has always been, the pulse of the cattle market. It’s where superior genetics and a national buyer pool come to trade.
This year has experienced a leveling off of commodity prices driving strong demand for cattle at all stages in their life cycle. Today
breeders can sell their mature herd bull and invest salvage dollars into young sires like never before. The national herd is down and
this coupled with less expensive feed and input costs has made the cattle business one of the highlights in agriculture today.
Demand for high quality genetics has not been higher and it’s never been a better time to be in the Highland cattle business.
Highland breeders continue to improve the breed and their cutting edge genetics are on display and for sale in Denver. Join us this
year for what we expect to be a great family outing and business event. Please don’t hesitate to contact AHCA or your sale committee
to inquire about this year’s offering.

with Elite Impact Dam and Impact Sire status in his pedigree. Rebel’s Jack calves demonstrate

brood cows, JAR Britni. Britni was paired with GH Mr Chips in 2009 to produce the seven-time
Champion and three-time Grand Champion Bull, Gray Owl’s Bearach (“Bear” #50,007).
Replicating this Britni – Mr. Chips pairing in 2012 produced this broody female, named after the
powerful and beautiful shield-maiden warrior who held her own in battle. Like her Champion fullbrother Bearach, Lagertha’s naturally thick and structurally sound frame reflects such strength in
stature, yet she possesses all the right feminine qualities for an easy handling cow in your herd.

flourish in a forage-finishing beef operation. Mairi possesses the combination of breeding
and show qualities built from her strong genetic background. Look for the names of

disposition comes from her easy handling dam JAR Mira and sire GH Mr Roberts. Be poised

with a long level hip, excellent feet, legs and udder whose dam made Impact status with her
4th calf. Raised on grass, Jitterbug comes to this venue without any special show ration. She

the highest show honors (including the Grand Champion Female at the 2013 NWSS) and
sale prices but have proven themselves easy-keeping, highly productive brood cows.
Joelle's mother is Elite Impact Dam LEA Deja Vu, herself a full sister to the 2007 Grand

bull prospect is sired by Forceful, a herd sire from the former Thorbardin Ranch and considered
one of their top bulls for producing a large number of high choice/prime carcasses. Forceful’s
sons, TBR Koch and TBR Mordecai, were show winners with excellent conformation and
above average growth. Barron’s dam is a daughter of Emmett who had a phenomenal show
career and went on to be a herd sire in Black Watch Farm’s beef program. Despite being the
smallest of our fall calves (BW 54 lbs.) and his dam’s first calf, Barron had the highest ADG and
WW. Like his sire and grandsire, Barron exhibits the length, structural correctness, sound feet
and legs, and fast growth rate that you would expect from this pedigree.

What a year it has been for Mr. Big! He was first in his class in 2014 at Denver followed by
the new ROE show season where he was honored as Reserve Champion Bull at the York
Fair. He then went on to have wins as Reserve Champ Jr Yearling Bull at the KILE and New
York State Fair and most recently Champ Jr Yearling Bull at NAILE. He comes by it honestly
with a sire who was Grand Champ Bull at the 2010 KILE and MAHA shows and a dam that
produced the Grand Champion Bull, BRF Xenon. Polly’s progeny were also named the
Produce-of-Dam winners at the 2014 New York State and York Fairs. This stout made show
topper is ready to be a dominant force in your herd and show string.

Another fine black bull from Dundonald! His young sire had two impressive show years prior
to being consigned to the 25th AHCA National Sale of 2013. His grandsire with over 150
progeny was an offspring of Gille Buidhe of Benmore, known as the gene machine. Ella, the
dam of this herd bull prospect has similar strong characteristics. Her show ring performances
placed her 3rd in the 2007 Roll of Excellence and 2nd in the 2008 Roll of Excellence. And she
placed 1st in class at the prestigious NWSS, Denver 2009. A large black cow sired by black
bull HI Oscar 03, she continues to be extremely productive with impressive progeny. No doubt
that Basswood 4 has a great future in your Highland breeding program.

A handsome breeding bull already proven with 10 impressive progeny in 2014 at
Dundonald Farm. He has an excellent disposition and handles well in various environments.
His sire traces lineage back to the great Scottish bull Gille Buidhe of Benmore (the gene
machine). Chance’s fine dam likewise has a tremendous background being a progeny of
Phillip 1st of HI Arrow, a prolific black bull from Bart of Benmore. Lisa of Dundonald and
Chance were Grand Champion Cow/Calf at the 2012 Osceola Classic with Chance named
Champion Junior Bull Calf. A well-structured prospect with proven genetics for herd
improvement and ready for spring breeding.

PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold; but it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that the animals are fed and cared for free of charge to the purchaser,
until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of 48 hours after the sale, whichever occurs sooner.

2. Bulls are guaranteed breeders if not allowed to run with the herd until at least 14 months of age. Any bull which settles cows by natural service and passes a breeding soundness exam according to the
guidelines of the Society of Veterinary Theriogenologists, made by competent veterinarians, mutually agreed upon by buyer and seller, during any 6 month period of trial (provided for in paragraph 2 of
"Options and Privileges of Return and Adjustment") shall be considered a breeder. Any guarantees with respect to the ability to freeze semen shall be by separate agreement between buyer and seller.

misrepresentation of service sire.
2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the animal may be returned to the farm of the seller, if in good condition and complying with the health requirement of the seller’s state. The seller
shall be entitled to 6 months trial following the return of the animal in which to prove that the animal is a breeder. If at the end of 6 months the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall,
at the option of the buyer, replace the animal with another of equal value or refund the full purchase price. The return of full purchase price shall in any case be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. Any
expense incurred for transporting an animal claimed to be a non-breeder shall be the responsibility of the purchaser, except the seller shall be responsible for transportation costs in excess of the distance
between the purchaser's farm and the location where the sale took place. If the seller proves the animal to be a breeder, it shall be the obligation of the purchaser to take delivery of the animal and pay all
expenses incurred.

costs in excess of the distance between the purchaser’s farm and the location where the sale took place.
4. If a female sold as "open" proves to be with calf, the purchaser may return the animal to the farm of the seller prior to calving for a refund of the full purchase price or for another animal of equal value,
whichever is acceptable to the purchaser. It shall be the obligation of the seller to bear any expense incurred for transportation.
5. Cows with calves at side are presumed to be breeders with no further fertility guarantee.
6. Any controversy or claim arising out of or related to this contract, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its commercial arbitration
rules, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
AUTHENTICITY OF PEDIGREE
When an animal, through blood typing and/or DNA typing, is determined to have ancestry other than that reported on the registration certificate, the buyer shall be entitled to a refund of the full purchase
price from the seller upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the buyer's expense. The animal in question, at the buyer's option, may be exchanged for another animal of equal value, or if agreeable
with the buyer, the seller may have the certificate of registry corrected at the seller's expense with the corrected certificate returned to the buyer. Any adjustment provided herein, if selected, shall absolve the
seller from further liability for authenticity of pedigree to the buyer.
THE SELLER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. THE LIABILITY OF SELLER FOR A BREACH OF
WARRANTY HEREUNDER IS LIMITED TO THE REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE.
