ASANTE SANA!!
Dear friends greetings
to you from my home
land Uganda. Four
years ago, as I set my
feet for the first time in
this beautiful country
side
of
Attersee,
Austria, hardly did I
know
that
a
partnership between
Bujuuko my home
village in Uganda and
Attersee would be
born. This friendship
has grown from year to
year. Its fruits can be
seen in the various
projects that we have
carried out together. It
all
began
with
sponsoring 20 orphans
to go to school, then
the Toilet project in
2012, and lastly the water tank and water pump
project. Allow me to express my gratitude to all
the friends and fans of Bujuuko in the Parishes of
Maria Attersee in Austria and Steinweg
Regensburg in Germany, the DJk- Regensburg
and lastly Uganda Kinder Hilfe, Regensburg, for
the continous support in the various projects that
we have so far carried out. The love you have
expressed to us, is a living sign of faith in Christ.
May the lord bless you and reward you abundantly.
I thank the Lux Mundi -Team, a group of people in
Uganda, who came together to form the
community development foundation that has
implemented the above mentioned projects. The
vision of the Lux Mundi- Team is to see Bujuuko
Community empowered towards having good and
integral standards of living. The team aims at
uplifting the community through carrying out
sustainable development projects.
I kindly request you to continue supporting our
vision. The current Project that needs urgently
your support is the purchase of a sports-ground
for the children in Bujuuko.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP
PROGRAM
The Lux Mundi child
sponsorship program
began way back in
2011. From the church
collection that was
meant to bid farewelll
Fr Simon Mbeera on
completion of the
summer- replacement
of Fr Joseph Schreiner,
20
disadvantaged
children
were
sponsored to attend
school for one year.
The child sponsorship
program did not stop
on that, but further
went on till today.
At the moment it supports 14 children in the
primary section and 2 in the Secondary section.
Those in the primary section include: Mbuubi
Geofrey, Nanteza Oliver, Namutebi Imelda,
Nakato Teddy, Nabakawa Agnes, Namuyanja
Sharon, Kyeyune Joseph, Kigozi Mike, Nanfuka
Annet, Nakaweesa Dorah, Namuli Recheal,
Namatovu Magaret, Ssegawa Joseph and Kazibwe
Joseph. Nakaweesa Jennifer and Kalangi
proceeded
to
the
Secondary
section.
Unfortunately Nabakooza Kate, Wamala Francis,
Nantamu Annet and Nansalo Benita, left our
childsponsorship program.
The reason for their dropping off, was due to the
shifting of their parents from Bujuuko Village to
other villages in such for jobs. The children for one
year need 70 Euro to attend primary school and
200 Euro to attend Secondary School. In
otherwords Lux Mundi Child sponsorship program
seeks 1380, Euro for the year 2015.

Education and Sports Program
For the previous two years Lux
Mundi CDF has engaged its self in
organising Sports projects. Each year
Lux Mundi organises a Sports Gala.
This Gala involves Football and
Netball, ofcourse it is open to other
games. Gratitude goes to the
Deutsche Jugend Kraft- Regensburg
(DJK),
DJKReichenbach,
DJK-Beucherling, Uganda Kinder
Hilfe and S.G Walhalla Regensburg
for the Sports wear, balls and
trophies. We need 1000 Euro each
year to organise the Lux Mundi
Sports Gala Event.
Bujuuko Hillside Primary School,
Ssenene Primary School, Nkambo
Primary School, Umea Primary
School, Kisamula Primary School,
Mannyo Gaseka Primary School,
Buyala Primary School and St. Jude
Primary School. The sports gala aims
at talent development and solidarity
amongst the children (Team work).
We like to present to you, our new
project: ,,Purchasing a sports field
for St. Anne Bujuuko Primary
School’’. The cost of this play ground
is estimated at 10000, Euro. We
appeal to you, to support us in the
acquiring of this play ground. The
ground will be
owned by the
Archdiocese of Kampala.
This years´sports gala was attended

Lux Mundi Excellence program :
On request of the teachers and Parents of St Anne Bujuuko Primary School, an
excellence program was formed. The aim of this program was to award
excellent children in Bujuuko. This would motivate the children and promote
a healthy competition among the pupils. The program so far awards the six
best children in the 3 higher classes of St Anne Bujuuko Primary School. As
time goes on, it will be extended to all schools in the village; awarding both
education and sports excellence.
Water and Sanitation Program
Scarcity of water had paralysed the
experience a hot dry season. In
march intermittent rains begin.
Between April and May the heavy
rains season begins. June to October
are cool and dry. Then November
has the light showers. The
temperatures range between 24°C
and 33 °C all year through. We
ought to note that the dry season is
not necessary hot and dry, at times
they are heavy rain showers in this
period.
school activities of St Anne Bujuuko
Primary School. This had come to an
extent of children missing School in
order to fetch water for home use
and meals while at school in a
distance between 2 and 5
Kilometres. The health of the 500
children in this School was at a risk.
They did not have safe water for
drinking and washing. A lot of time
would be lost in fetching unsafe
water. As for girls , many opted to
stay at home since there was nothing
like water at school.
This is why we presented to you our
appeal to support us in the
construction of
a 30,000 litres
underground water tank to secure
enough safe water for the Children.
Thanks be to God, through your
donations, a sum of 10000, Euro and
later on 1500, Euro for the manual
water pump was raised. We are
proud to say that they will always be
enough water for the children in
the future.
With hefty rainfall in Bujuuko, one
could not imagine, that this
community, although rural in nature
could lack water for basic home use
and hygiene. Uganda is blessed
with a good tropical climate. The
country experiences only two
seasons: the rainy and the dry season.
Between the months of December
and February the country

Lux Mundi Microcredit Scheme
and Sustainable Development
Projects
It has always been the wish of Lux Mundi CDF to address poverty
through concrete self help projects.
Unfortunately we have not yet succeeded due to lack of funds.
Otherwise the first women's group has been formed and the piece
of Land where the projects will be carried out bought. 5000 Euro
are required to start the Micro credit scheme, and 5000 Euro
required too for the Pig farming Project.
This Micro-credit will offer very small loans (Micro loans) to the
selected women to engage in pig farming and small scale
businesses. Since most of them lack collateral and a verifiable credit,
they cannot meet the most minimal qualifications to obtain credit in
any bank. The Micro-credit scheme will enable them improve their
social and economic conditions, increase their house hold incomes
and to instil in them a culture of saving.
