Parent Access to Curriculum Resources Grades 6-8 Online Curriculum The Laveen Elementary School District has provided its students and teachers with new curriculum resources aligned to Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards in both English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students in Grades 6 through 8 use the Glencoe Math and Pearson Common Core Literature programs, which include traditional books along with stateof-the-art digital resources that students and parents can access anywhere, anytime, from a variety of devices. Parents can access these resources by using the student’s username and password. Student Username and Password Usernames begin with the three-letter school code, followed by an underscore ( _ ) and the student’s first and last names. Cheatham Desert Meadows Laveen M.C. Example: St654321 Glencoe Math Go to http://connected.mcgraw-hill.com for the ConnectED Login screen. Enter the student’s Username and Password and click Login. To Do: Click this to see what the teacher has assigned. My Files: Click to see specific homework or worksheets. Click the book to open the Student Center. Messages: Click for important notes or announcements from the teacher. Click ConnectED to return to your Books and the Content page. Resources: The online tools that are connected to the lesson. Help: This page has tutorials and user guides to help you understand how to use ConnectED. Find your place: Drop down menus guide you to the lesson pages. Homework: Your latest assignment. Messages: Important notes or announcements from the teacher. Is your child unsure of how to do a problem? In Glencoe Math, help is just a few clicks away! Once you’re on the current chapter and lesson, Menu opens a sidebar (see below). Resources opens a list of options (see below). eHelp: suggested resources to help your student better understand the concept. The Personal Tutor is a helpful option, giving a recorded explanation of the math concept. Tutor: video of a teacher teaching the lesson. Pearson Common Core Literature Click the Sign In button. Go to http://pearsonrealize.com. Enter the student’s Username and Password, then click the Sign In button. From here, you can explore the Common Core Literature program. Search bar: Find resources related to a specific language arts topic, such as “analyzing arguments.” Table of Contents: Go directly to a specific unit. Reading selections include several interactive tools. Highlighter Notes: Attach your ideas or questions. Bookmark Glossary: Look up words. Audio Mode: Listen to the story.
