These 3 extremely rare buildings will be sold as a single unit. This is the only known complete example of this configuration. There are other Gunner’s Quarters and Gun Sheds, but this is the only known Flight of Steps. This actual example is pictured in Joe Wallis’s ‘Army of the World’ page 248; Bill Miele Collection. 96 BRITAINS SET #1744 MACHINE GUN EMPLACEMENT 9.0 $475 Machine Gun Emplacement with corrugated roof and sand bags. A low parapet in front allows prone machine gunners to be used. A flat corrugated roof covers the emplacement. Seven sand bags are stacked at the rear corner. Base measures 6 by 6 inches only manufactured 1939-1941. PAGE 30 97 BRITAINS SET #1861 CAMOUFLAGED NETTED FIELD EMPLACEMENT 9.5 $2200 Designed to house Britain’s Heavy Howitzer underneath a camouflaged netting to conceal it from the Luftwaffe. Manufactured 1940-1941. 101 BRITAINS SET #1866 CIRCULAR SANDBAG EMPLACEMENT 9 - SLIGHT DAMAGE TO 1 SANDBAG $2200 For A.A. Gun or Searchlight. 12 by 12 inches. The Circular emplacement formed by staking 6 sandbags, one atop another, sloping inward so that the diameter of the bottom is 8 inches while the top is 7 inches. There’s a small gap to provide entrance as illustrated on the 1940 Britains Catalog. Extremely Rare and Manufactured 1940-1941. PAGE 31 102 BRITAINS SET #1867 OPEN TYPE FIELD SHELTER 9.0 $1700 Six posts support a corrugated roof. Two strips of corrugated tin form the overhead cover. 12 by 12 inches. Could be used for a field medical dressing station, gun position or ammunition depot. Manufactured 1939-1941. 103 BRITAINS SET #1869 EXTREMELY RARE R.A.M.C. CASUALTY CLEARING STATION 9.0 $4200 Extremely Rare R.A.M.C. Casualty Clearing Station with thatched barn and open cart shed. The barn resembles Britains farm set #95 but is smaller. The cart shed has a large red cross painted on the roof; presumably ambulances would be unloaded there. 12 by 12 inches. Manufactured 1939-1941.
