Choice Food Pantry Opens Naples - A Choice Food Pantry opened at the Judy Sullivan Family Resource Center of Catholic Charities, a new concept brought forth by staff and volunteers. Make a Spl as h mmer ! this Su for the event. The pantry then served a record 65 households in three hours. (Pantry continued on Page 8) Instead of receiving a pre-packed bag of food at the pantry, clients are able to shop with a cart for the groceries they know their family will eat and enjoy. Not only does it bring dignity to Catholic Charities clients, but it cuts waste of 50 to 60 percent of food that is not known or liked, and is no longer being thrown away. St. Ann Parish Pastor Father Michael Vannicola blessed the pantry on opening day and Catholic Charities COO Sharon Aragona cut the ceremonial ribbon. It is more respectable for them.” The Elizabeth Kay Galeana Center of Catholic Charities (upper left) was completely renovated.
