ParisTech takes action in five areas (teaching, innovation research and development, diversity,

members. At the same time, ParisTech saw significant
growth in its number of staff in 2013 (from fewer than
10 to 15 officers) to support the development of
a number of specific projects (ParisTech Shanghai Jiao
Tong, the Institut de Villebon-Georges Charpak and
ICARE).
ParisTech had a global budget of €3.4 million in 2013
to fund key projects in the educational field: almost
€1.4 million was allocated to pedagogical projects
developed with a range of academic partners:
> in China, the ICARE Institute in Wuhan and the
ParisTech Shanghaï Jiao Tong Engineering School,
which opened in September 2013;
> in France: the Institut Villebon-Georges Charpak,
which opened in September 2013: an Innovation in
Education Excellence Initiative designed in partnership
with Paris Sud and Paris Descartes Universities.
ParisTech is largely dependent on the contributions
made by its founding members to finance its activities
(almost €1.8 million over the course of the year) a
