Hatzolah is a group of dedicated community members, whose goal is to provide emergency medical care in the crucial time immediately after an emergency occurs. Each Hatzolah responder is a trained Emergency Medical Technician, who is available to respond to requests for aid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your interest in joining Hatzolah should indicate your commitment to being available to help anyone in our community in a way that positively reflects Judaism and Halacha. All members must adhere to the rules, regulations, and policies of Hatzolah. An individual will be considered a member of Hatzolah at the discretion of the Administrative Board of Hatzolah, and may be removed at their request. Among the requirements for continued membership in Hatzolah of Los Angeles are the following: • • • • • • Professional conduct on, and off, emergency calls Maintaining current licensing by the County of Los Angeles as an EMT Maintaining and upgrading of skills through any continuing education programs or skills training established through the Deputy Chief of Education. Responding to calls, this includes the member accompanying the patient to the hospital if necessary Maintaining and submitting all Patient Care Reports in the required time period A personal lifestyle in keeping with the predominantly orthodox community that Hatzolah serves Any newly admitted member is considered to be in a an Internship status for his first six months of service, at which time his membership will be re-evaluated, based on his progress through the internship program. I agree to abide by all rules and regulations of Hatzolah of Los Angeles both written and oral. I understand that the Leadership may from time to time promulgate new regulations, as they feel are necessary for the effective operation of the organization. I further understand that all decisions of the Leadership are final other than, certain situations where a member may appeal by following the proper protocol. Under no circumstance, will any matter be subject to outside intervention or arbitration. It is also understood that in all matters pertaining to Halachah and Din, the decisions and P'sak of the Hatozlah Rabbonim shall be final. If a member leaves Hatzolah , whether it is voluntarily, or involuntarily, all equipment is to be returned promptly. This includes but is not limited to a two-way radio, oxygen and trauma kits, AED, personal or vehicle I.D. cards, and any other equipment, which is the property of Hatzolah.
