Fruit salad is a wonderful treat
Fruit is sweet and fun to eat
Apples are crunchy, red and round
They fall from trees onto the ground
An orange is the color of its name
Peeling one is like a game
Bananas are yellow, soft and long
Eat a bunch, you can't go wrong
Strawberries are sticky, sweet and red
It's messy to eat them in your bed
Watermelons are juicy, sweet and pink
Spit your seeds into the sink
Fruit salad is great in any weather
Make a bowl to eat together
7th March, 2014
This week the children
moved into their new
classroom and accepted the
change beautifully and were
settled right away.
They played, danced and
had a great time while
exploring the different
centers in the class.
.
This week we learnt about
‘Fruits’. We saw pictures of
various fruits in ‘The Big Book of
Fruits’, played with pretend
fruits, played different fruitrelated games and did many
fruit-related activities.
We also brought in our favorite
fruit in class to make fruit
salad. We talked about our
favorite fruit, its color and why
it is our favorite fruit.

Literacy
This week the children
were introduced to the
letter sound ‘i’.
They heard the story of
how inky the mouse
spillled ink on herself and
got wet.
They even learnt the ‘inky
the mouse’ song.
We also practiced prewriting skills and learnt
about slanting line.
Maths
We practiced oral counting
from 1-10 using our fingers.
We also did matching and
sorting activities.
We even repeated bead
patterns which were given to
us by Ms. Manjot.
News from Specialists
Music
This week we sang
different rhymes like
‘Twinkle-twinkle’ and
‘Baa- Baa Black Sheep’
with Ms. Aastha. We
also sang the days of the
week using the seven
notes of music while Ms.
Aastha played the guitar
and also used eggshakers to play along
while singing.

We were too excited for
Horse-riding and we also
played the game ‘Jumping
into the Hoopla’.

Drama
We chose puppets and narrated
our own little stories while on
stage with Ms. Garima.

Dance
We first did warm-up and
stretching exercises and then
danced to ‘Cuppycake Song’ and
‘The Animal song’.

A glimpse of Jharokha
We enjoyed going to the
senior school and watched
our seniors sharing their
lovely science creations
that they made on their
own!
Nursery Assembly
This week, class
nursery presented
an assembly on
animals. Some of
them danced, some
sang a beautiful
song from New
Zealand and some
pretended to be
their favorite
animal. Ms. Pihu
even taught us the
song. It was so
much fun! 
Play
This week we
played out in the
sun and indoors
too. We climbed
and hung on the
swings. We made
sand castles and
treasure hunt in
the sand pit.

• Horse-riding is on Thursdays.
• Please send 5 passport-sized
photograph of your child to be used in
class activities.
• Kindly send a pair of old socks by
Wednesday 12th March, 2014 for a
puppet-making activity.
