“Up to New Leadership”
We are winding down a great year where your
chapters have had great success and
growth. There is excitement in planning for next
year and keeping our chapters moving forward.
There are of course challenges that come with
this work.
For us current leaders, one of the biggest
challenges is “How do you let go and let the new
leadership put their stamp
on the future?”

Here is what I have learned.
1. Most importantly don’t take it personally, the changes that are happening
Aren’t about current leadership.
2. We all did it when we started – we thought our way was better than past
leadership and would not listen to them. Trust me, more than once this
year I have said to Pam – you were right, I should have listened.
3. Stop and listen to what the new leadership is saying and you will be
surprised what you hear.
For the new leaders, it is exciting and you have a lot of great ideas to move your chapters forward. On that note past leadership has history that will help make your life easier. Here is what I
have learned being a new leader.
1.You can move forward one of two ways– build on what past leadership has done or
take it apart and rebuild it. If you know me I am all about efficiency, so I choose to
build on previous leadership.
2. Know that every move that you make is being watched under a microscope. This is
in a good way, but be conscious of what is going around you and take the time to
be present for your members.
Have a great quarter and I hope to see you in October.

Message from your Arizona State Governor ~ Kris Nelson
This year is winding down and the planning has started for 2015.
It has been a very busy year for us not only business wise but personally also.
Remember to get in your best programs for the last half of the year as soon as possible in December. We had some great
submissions to National the first half let’s see if we can’t out do ourselves for the last half.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Scottsdale for our October meeting. I am looking for a little help with the morning
breakfast on Monday and Tuesday. Let me know if you can give me a little time.
As November draws near, plans for our Region 4 night out are finalized. I will have information on that with me at our October
meeting, as well as flyers for the mask fundraiser and the new tablet fund raiser.
As always if you have any thing you need help with just give me a call.

The AZ East Valley WCR came together with the first ever charity golf tournament for the Child Crisis Center, Mesa on
9/12/14. The tournament was held at the Superstition Springs Golf Club and was a huge success. The Superstition Springs
Golf Club also sponsored a $10,000 hole in one gift! Superstition Springs Chrysler Jeep was our main sponsor and gifted a car
for their hole in one. Russell Shaw was our MC for the event and kept us on our toes with great laughs. We had many prizes
donated from around the valley that were raffled off, and local sponsors as well as many volunteers that contributed. We are
very appreciative of everyone’s efforts and involvement. This was a great success for the AZ East Valley WCR and the Child
Crisis Center. We look forward to future fundraisers with them!

Tucson Chapter, Dea Venne ~ http://www.tucsonwcr.com/
Well we are heading into the home stretch for 2014. As I look over what we’ve done this past year and the ground work we
have laid for next year, I get very excited about what lies ahead for the Tucson Chapter. We have created a buzz of excitement
with some amazing guest speakers not to mention our own Sue Cartun, John Wesley Miller & Fletcher Mccusker. And after
taking a little break for the summer months July and August, it was a joy to see over 80 of our industry professionals come
together for our September Business Resource Luncheon with Mayor Rothschild as our speaker. We have had a big focus on
the growth of Tucson housing market and our local economy this year because it is something that is critical to our industry and
to our personal and financial success as REALTORS. I see our members working together and exchanging business opportunities which is what we ultimately want to drive for our members and affiliates.
As we look ahead to the final quarter of the year and begin to prepare for next year by electing our new Governing Board at our
October Luncheon; Business Planning at our November Luncheon and then our installation of our new officers in December, I
hope that I can count on everyone’s continued excitement, commitment and support to the Tucson Chapter of Women’s Council of REALTORS.
Warmest Regards,
Dea Hinrichs

Here it is September and the year is almost over. We helped sponsor an event on September 15, 2014
that our Association was putting on. The guest speaker was Ashton Gustafson and we had a table
along with other venders and had some interested REALTOR’s stop by. We were able to sit in on hearing Ashton speak and he was awesome. One September 17, we helped sponsor an Ice Cream social
that WeMAR was putting on along with the Motor Sports Car Club and others. We had a Silent Dessert
Auction there and had about 26 desserts for people to bid on. Due to the weather that day, the turnout
was not all that great, but we still made over $150.00 for our chapter.
WeMAR Cares is putting on a Show called Sparkling Nights on October 3 and our chapter has an ad in
the program this year.
On October 23, we are having a BOO BINGO at Westbrook Village and will be inviting the community to
attend along with REALTOR’s and everyone else that would like to come. We would like to thank the
SCOTTSDALE Chapter for helping us out with this event.
Our guest speaker for October 15 is going to be Hilary Bilbrey, CEO of Inspired by Family and on November 19 our speaker is Sean O'Neil with Memory Dynamics. We will be closing our year with some
great speakers and events. I hope you all can come to our events and or meetings. Thank you and let’s
keep making it happen.
