Ottawa attended by over 300 Members
The HomeLife 2009
International Conference this
year was held in our Nation’s
Capital of Ottawa and was
attended by over 300 HomeLife
Members from across the
Country.
Highlighting the conference was
Friday’s 2008 Higher
Standards of Excellence
Awards Ceremony in which
over 300 awards were handed
out. Andrew Cimerman,
Founder and CEO of HomeLife
Realty Services Inc. delivered
his key note address which,
focused on our National and
International growth during the
present economic times and our
commitment to our “No Agent
Left Behind” philosophy (see
page 2 for more of Andrew’s
speech).

Mandlsohn, to the role of
General Manager, reporting

In his new role, Mr.
Mandlsohn will be
responsible for a number of

including overseeing the
day-to-day operations of
HomeLife® in Canada, with
a keen focus on Franchise
Development. Larry will
also focus on guiding the
company to fully integrate its

throughout Canada. He will
also manage all activities
associated with
implementation, change
management, communication
strategy, and educational
components related to our

Mr.
Mandlsohn
joins
HomeLife® with a wealth of
experience.
Mr. Mandlsohn
started his real estate career in
1978, and progressed to
become a Broker in 1982. He
has managed several well
known Real Estate brands.
After managing a HomeLife
office for six years, he
managed a Re/Max office for
five years and then a Century
21 office for six years. Mr.
Mandlsohn’s other progressive
positions include being on the
Ethics Committee for TREB
for 3 years, a Vice-Chair of
TREB’s
Professional
Standards Committee for 2
years, and was on the Board
of Directors and Chair of the
Membership Committee for
the York Board.

Top Ten Ways to excel in Real Estate
So you want to excel in the
real estate market? You
want to become known for
your “Higher Standards™”
service?
Here are ten tips that if you
consistently follow will
improve your market share,
listings and sales.
#10: Think of yourself as
a performer, when you are
farming a market area over
the phone, don’t be
“telemarketerish”, instead
think of yourself as the local
radio celebrity, make it fun,
enthusiastic and to the
point.
#9 Manage your data
base, most Realtors do
follow up with clients that
are in their data bases,
everyone in your data base
should be contacted at
least every six weeks!
Whether it is a newsletter, a
phone call, a HomeLife
Marketing Block™ Flyer, or
a promotional gift. Clients
remember a Realtor that is
consistently visible within
their neighbourhood.
#8: Become involved,
whether it is coaching or
playing in a sports team,
you’re local Rotary Club, or
any other thing of passion to
you. Being visible to your
community is the best way
to potentially get referrals.
#7: Carry Business Cards
and a promotional package
of you, wherever you go.
Opportunities happen when
you least expect it. So be
prepared! Carry business
cards with you always, don’t
give just one out…give
three, one for your contact
and two for their friends.
#6: Plan your day, have a
daily plan and stick to it! You
should book time for calling
clients and during that time,
do not let other “noise”
interrupt you. Commit to it.
#5: Wherever possible
personalize your
communication to your
marketing area. Listing
Presentations, Newsletters,
Thank You cards, they
should be as personal as
possible, people like to see
their name in print!

#4: Be on time! For
appointments, meetings,
wherever you have made a
commitment. People do not
like being made to wait.
#3: Listen to what your client
is saying. If you have the
opportunity to meet with a
potential client or on the
phone, listen to what they are
telling you. Ask open-ended
questions to get further details
(who, what, when, why, how).
Gather as much information as
you can to ensure you will
satisfy their needs.
#2: Follow-up with every
person you have talked to,
met with, or have listed their
property, stay in touch
regularly and consistently.
#1: Utilize the HomeLife
