Announcing a Union Forged To Benefit Our Members As a Society member, your donations of time and funding are at the very core of what we are able to accomplish. Now, once more, we are able to thank you for your support through our partnership with another U.S. Capitol institution, the United States Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU). Our Newest Way to Say Thank You! he United States Capitol Historical Society, founded in 1962 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1978, is proud to announce its union with the United States Senate Federal Credit Union. A partnership that will strengthen the capabilities of both to accomplish their respective missions. For almost 50 years, members of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society (USCHS) have generously shared and supported our mission: educating Americans and the world about our system of government and preserving the historic treasures and traditions of this great symbol of democracy. The Society strives to bring alive the place where Americans from all walks of life have made history for over 200 years and to provide the resources by which people of all ages understand the relevancy of the Capitol and Congress to their everyday lives and futures. The Society’s activities are funded through tax-deductible memberships, grants and merchandise sales. Proceeds support the donation of art and artifacts to the Capitol’s collections, scholarly research, educational seminars, school programs and publications. As a member of the Society, either as an individual or as an employee of a member organization, you are automatically eligible to join USSFCU — an organization owned entirely by its members and operated solely for the benefit of those who belong. A membership with USSFCU will provide you with numerous benefits. With no shareholders to pay, profits are returned to its members, in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates and low or no fees. Becoming a member of the USSFCU enables you to enjoy these financial benefits, resources and the prestige associated with this organization. A Capitol Partnership This partnership between the U.S. Capitol Historical Society and the U.S. Senate Federal Credit Union unites and strengthens two organizations that share many similarities. Both are connected with the historic Capitol Building. Both thrive through membership and are here to specifically serve their members. Both focus on education. Both are non-partisan. And both are well established: the Historical Society is celebrating 50 years of service while the Credit Union is celebrating 75 years — their longevity a reflection of the value placed on both by their members. Together we become stronger in our ability to provide services to our members. Act Today! If you are not currently a USCHS member, join now by visiting www.uschs.org or call 202-543-8919 x20.
