Overview The objective of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning is to help participants pursue leadership positions in competitive business environments. The curriculum has been designed by a selected panel of business professionals and prominent academicians and focuses extensively on business case studies and examples. The PGDBA program structure is based on compulsory core courses and specialisations. The first two semesters focus on core courses. Students can then choose two electives, from a long list of possible specialisations. The program includes six 09 specialisations including: Marketing, Finance, Management Accounting, HR, Operations and Customer Relationship Management. Faculty Of Management Who can appear for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016? How to appear for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 20152016? This Entrance Test is only for students seeking admission to SCDL PGDBA program. All students who meet the Eligibility Criteria-1 for PGDBA program stated above can appear for the SCDLPGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016. Students appearing for final graduation exam are also required to appear for the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, subject to completion of graduation within the time period specified by SCDL. Step 1: Who is exempted from appearing for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016? Students seeking admission to PGDBA program of SCDL, who have appeared and secured a valid score in, any one of the State Level MBA/MMS-CET/G-MAT/ CAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT/ C-MAT or equivalent entrance test at State or National level, valid for Academic year 2015-2016, are exempted from the SCDL - PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016. The scores of the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, are valid for Academic year 2015-2016 only. For students not meeting the Eligibility requirement mentioned in Criteria-1, in the specified time, the SCDL- PGDBA Entrance test score will become null and void. Fill up the SCDL Admission form enclosed with the prospectus for seeking admission to PGDBA program. Step 2: The student must submit the Admission form with necessary supporting documents and non-refundable registration fee as mentioned below. General /Defence - Rs 1000/SAARC - USD 75 or Rs 4875/International - USD 100 or Rs 6500/- a) Online: Student will fill the admission form online and pay the registration fee online through payment gateway. The student is required to take a print out of the admission form, attach supporting documents and send the form to SCDL, Pune campus by registered post/courier. Registration fee is non refundable. b) Through Demand Draft: Students will fill the admission form and pay the registration fee through demand draft. The demand draft should be in favor of ‘The Director SCDL, Pune’ payable at pune and attach supporting documents and send the form to SCDL, Pune campus by registered post/courier. Registration fee is non refundable. What will be tested in SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016? c)By Cash: The SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 would be conducted to test the logical reasoning, comprehension and general aptitude of the candidate. The students can pay registration fee of Rs. 1000/- by cash at SCDL, Pune Campus, along with the admission form and requisite supporting documents. Registration fee is non refundable. How will SCDL declare the result of SCDL- PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016? The result of SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 will be declared on the SCDL website and will be sent to the student via email. The admissions are strictly based on the performance of the students in the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016. Admission to PGDBA shall be subject to students clearing the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 and meeting the eligibility Criteria 1, mentioned above. Step 3: The admission form and supporting documents will be scrutinized by competent authority. If the student meets the eligibility Criteria 1, he/she will receive a user name and password for the student portal on SCDL website through e-mail. Step 4: The student must log in to the SCDL portal using the username and password and register for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, by paying Entrance Test fee, online 10 Faculty Of Management through the payment gateway, of amount as specified below: General /Defence - Rs 300/SAARC- USD 15 or Rs 975/International - USD 20 or Rs 1300/Note: SAARC and International category students will have to appear for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 through proctored online exam in their country of residence. Step 5: The student will be required to book a slot for the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 by choosing the location, date and time for appearing for the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 through the booking link on the SCDL student portal through SCDL website. A list of SCDL designated examination centres, along with the available time slots for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 is available on the booking link. Please note the slot booking is available on first come first serve basis. To view the nearest exam centre please refer to the SCDL website. Step 6: After the student books the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015- Admission a) All students who qualify in the SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, subject to their fulfilling Eligibility Criteria-1 mentioned earlier will be given admission to PGDBA programme. The letter confirming the admission along with SCDL ID card will be sent to the student by post. The students are expected to pay their course fee within the prescribed timeline to confirm their admission. b) The students who qualify in the SCDL - PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, but whose final year results are awaited, will be given provisional admission. They will be required to submit their final year mark sheet, within the prescribed timeline given by SCDL to confirm their admission. c) Students seeking admission to PGDBA program of SCDL, who have appeared and have a valid score in any one of the State Level MBA/ MMS-CET/ C-MAT/ G-MAT/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ XAT or equivalent entrance test at State or National level, valid for Academic year 2015-2016, can directly apply for admission, subject to their fulfilling eligibility criteria-1 and 2. The student must enclose a copy of their score card of the equivalent State/National level Entrance self attested, along with the admission form, other supporting documents and registration fee which can be paid online/ through Demand Draft / Cash at SCDL Cash counter at Pune 2016 at a designated SCDL exam centre as per his/her convenience; a hall ticket is generated automatically on the student portal in the booking link. The student must take a print out of the hall ticket and carry to the exam centre. Step 7: The student must carry with him/her the hall ticket and an original Government approved photo ID proof such as passport/PAN card/Driving licence/Aadhar card etc. to SCDL designated examination centre to enable him/her to appear for the SCDLPGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 on the date, time and centre Important Note 1. SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016 scores are valid for Academic Year 2015-2016 only. 2. Dual Specialsation fee for General / Defence category – ` 7000/-, for International category – USD 600 and for SAARC – USD 300. One can apply for dual specialisation by submitting the duly filled service request form along with the Dual specialisation fee within the specified date. Dual Specialisation can be pursued only after successful completion of the first (primary) specialisation subjects / courses. The registration period validity for the program remains same. No further extension is provided for completion of dual (additional) specialisation. No project submission required for the dual (additional) specialisation. Evaluation Methodology Ÿ Each subject comprises of an online assignment (30 marks) and computer-based examination (70 marks). Students are requested to appear for the assessments on a timely basis and complete the program in the validity period. Ÿ Online assignments are objective type and are available in the student login. Examinations include a subjective element in addition to the objective part. Examinations are conducted at designated exam centers across the country. Ÿ Research Methodology and Statistical Quantitative Methods: Students are required to appear for online assignment on Research Methodology and Statistical Quantitative methods for 30 marks. The project is for 70 marks The diploma will be awarded only after the student passes in all elements of assessment, i.e. each computer based examination, each online assignment and project, subject to fulfillment of all other criteria laid down by SCDL as well as payment of all fees /dues. An eligible student will have to make a specific application to SCDL to opt out of the PGDBA program within the registration validity period of PGDBA. The fees paid for PGDBA are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students must submit a formal application in the SCDL Service Request Form (SRF) for the same, on or before March 1, 2016. Students must ensure and retain proof of receipt for the SRF sent to SCDL. Students will not receive fee credit unless proper details are mentioned on the reverse of the DD. It is the sole responsibility of the student to mention registration number, program name and type of fee details in all letters, while sending the fees or any other documents, to enable SCDL to identify the student and the purpose of remitting the fees or sending the document. If a student fails to pay the fees as per the timelines, then in such a case, his/her admission shall stand cancelled. § In case of students enrolled on a provisional basis, if the documents required for the purpose of eligibility are not submitted on or before November 30, 2015 or if submitted with deficiencies (i.e. not in the manner prescribed) and the deficiencies are not made good on or before November 30, 2015 or within 15 days of communication to that effect, whichever is later, then his/her admission shall stand cancelled. § In both the cases as mentioned above the student is not entitled to any refund of paid fees. Refund of Program Fees § Students desiring to cancel their admission need to submit an § § Dual Specialisation § Dual (additional) Specialisation option is available for PGDBA & PGDIM program. Dual specialisation fee is non-refundable and non transferable. 49 § application for cancellation of admission (Application for Refund of Program Fees) only in the prescribed format, available in the student login on SCDL website, within 30 days from the date of admission for the enrolled program. Students will receive only the refund for the program fees paid by them after the deduction of 25% administrative charges, on the paid amount. Prospectus and Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Refund application will be processed only after the student return to SCDL, the self learning material, confirmation/provisional letter, ID card or any other SCDL material that the student has in his custody. In case the study material and/or ID card are not returned to SCDL, Rs 800/- and Rs 100/-respectively will be deducted from the refund amount for Study Material and ID card not returned. Any application for refund of program fees received after 30 days from the date of admission for the enrolled program will not be accepted. Admissions Process HOW TO APPLY? • Students have to pay separate entrance test fee to appear for SCDL-PGDBA Entrance Test 2015-2016, refer page 47, Fee Policies for all Programs for the same. SCDL shall not be liable for any operational loss/damage arising out of deficiency of such knowledge /computer skills. § It is also clarified here that differently abled students shall make necessary provisions/arrangements at their own cost and expenses to understand the self-learning material and/or to appear for examination and/or to perform any action related to the program. SCDL shall not be liable to incur any expense on such account and also not be liable for any loss/damage arising out of negligence/inability of differently abled students to understand the self-learning material and /or to appear for examination and/or to perform any action related to the program. § SCDL has a Student Grievance Redressal Forum, a body independent of SCDL and headed by a legal luminary to enable the students to get their grievances redressed. § Students are advised to approach the said Student Grievance § Redressal Forum to get their grievances, if any, redressed before taking any legal recourse. Students who are granted provisional admission and fail to meet the eligibility criteria 1 and criteria 2, in specified time prescribed by SCDL will not be given admission. Student Undertaking § It is assumed that all students seeking admission to SCDL § § § § programs have carefully read the Prospectus and website and further agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Institute. Students submitting the admission/application form to any program/course at SCDL are assumed to have read the rules and policies related to eligibility, provisional admission, cancellation of admission and refund of fees and disclaimers mentioned above and agree to the same, as mentioned in the admission form. Students are instructed not to use any unfair means in the examination hall. Students are not allowed to bring any materials such as digital diary, cell phone, pager, palmtop tithe examination hall. In case a student is found using any of these items as mentioned above during the examination, in the examination hall or in the premises where the examination is being conducted, SCDL has the right to cancel that student's admission and in such a case, the student shall not be entitled to any refund of fees. Students are requested to immediately intimate SCDL of any change in their communication address. The Institute shall not be responsible for non-receipt of ID card/Admission Letter /Study Material by the student if the change of address is not communicated to SCDL well before the schedule of dispatch of their material, as notified on the website and the student will have to bear the cost of delivery. Students are requested to take note about SCDL's Right to Amend Rules (given above) and agree to the same through this understanding. No donation or capitation fee is charged for admission to any course at any institute of Symbiosis.
