The gas meters can be used for measurement of:
„„ Natural gas
„„ City gas
„„ Propane-butane gas
Gas meter is equipped with pulse magnet as standard. Pulse
transmitter can be added at any time (1 imp = 0,01 m3).

Smart gas meters
with the remote reading
They were designed for use within AMR and AMM systems, which will be beyond
any doubt commonly developing in coming years.
Gas meters fulfill conditions of valid norms and European standards, and for last
years have been installed in EU countries in smart metering implementation process.
Actually they are the most innovative products in their class in the market.

Uniflo G4S electronic index has an auto diagnostic system, monitoring the conditions of the meter:
„„ Remaining life of battery
„„ Gas temperature, low and high limit*
„„ Temperature sensor error*
„„ High and high-high flow limit
„„ Gray-Code detection error
„„ Daily max. consumption error
„„ Self check error (hardware and software)
„„ Tamper detection (mechanical, magnetic)
30 latest alarms are stored with time stamp.

independent of the inlet gas temperature and the
ambient temperature. Correct measurement of gas
temperature improves the accuracy with up to 3%.
Gray-code detection system
Uniflo series
Tamper proof
The movement of the gas measuring unit is detected
by a unique, High Frequency optical detection system, based on Gray-Code and 3 optical sensors on
the PCB. This system offers high resolution, tamper
proof ness and failsafe detection, fit for instant flow
calculation and error curve correction.
Excellent accuracy

Correction by
linear interpolation

error curve
Mechanical tampering of the index is not possible, as
moving parts in the index are reduced to a minimum.
Removal of front cover will activate tamper alarm. The
gas meter is not sensitive to normal magnetic fields.
In case of extremely powerful magnets, a magnetic
tamper alarm will be activated.
Communication is secured by encryption (AES compatible) with individual encryption keys, and by detection of invalid communication format, activating
alarm.
Reverse gas flow will be stopped by mechanical lock
in measuring unit, and reverse rotation will be detected by the “Gray-Code” and immediately activate an
alarm. Also exceeding max. flow limit, or max. daily
consumption limit will activate alarm.
Alarms will be stored in the memory, with time
stamp, to be transferred at the next meter reading,
or immediately, when radio is used. Alarms can be
reset remotely.
Integrated valve (option)
The initial error curve of the diaphragm gas meter is
programmed into the micro-processor in the index at
3 flows: Qmin, 0.2 Qmax and Qmax.
With the High Frequency Gray-Code detection, flow is
calculated and consequent error by linear interpolation. The error curve of
the measuring unit is corrected to approx. 0.1%.
Temperature conversion (option)
Temperature conversion may be performed for read
out of base volume or energy. A unique temperature
measurement system ensures a precise measurement of gas temperature inside the measuring unit,
The meter may be supplied with built-in valve, offering remote closing of the gas flow after receiving the
signal from back office.
Because opening of gas valve may have important
safety impacts (e.g. an opened unsecured gas cooker), Flonidan has developed a dedicated procedure
both in hardware and software. After the communication unit has given the signal “Open valve”, customer
may have to push a button on the index to reopen the
valve (see flow chart “Open indirect”).
If the meter after opening detects, within a given time
frame, too high gas flow, the valve will automatically
close again. Customer must first shut off gas consuming devices, before pushing the button again.
Time frame and max. gas flow can be configured on
customer specifications (See flow chart).
Command for safe opening without customer intervention is also available (see flow chart “Open direct”)

AMR (Automatic Meter Reading)
The meter may be supplied with M-bus, wired (EN-13757-2) (standard with 2m cable) or wireless (EN13757-4).
Exemplary configuration scheme of AMR system is shown below.
Configuration and cost of the system depend on location of gas meters and technical requirements of the
customer, therefore please contact our sales department to receive the suitable offer.
