The Hesperia Chamber of Commerce
supports local schools
through the Scholarship Programs.
The Chamber offers two different scholarship programs.
There
is an annual scholarship program
for Hesperia Unified School District
graduating seniors, and the program is sponsored by Chamber members. Eligible seniors may apply in
the spring for scholarships ranging
from $250 to $1000. The applications review the student’s academic
achievements, school and community involvement, and plans for the
future. These scholarships help to
make college affordable for firstyear students and may be used for
tuition, books, and supplies. This
year, two local students will receive
$500 scholarships and be recognized
for their outstanding efforts at the
June Luncheon.

The Chamber also offers an ongoing scholarship program for Hesperia
Christian School. The school hosts the
Friday Morning Coffee most weeks,
with a few exceptions. As part of
the Coffee, members are allowed to
make announcements for $5.00. All
of the funds collected from the Friday
morning announcements are giving
back to Hesperia Christian School
for use in their scholarship program,
which helps students pay for tuition
costs. Since January, the Chamber
has collected over $400 for Hesperia
Christian School and presented a
check to the school on May 28th. The
Chamber has given the school over
$1,200 toward scholarships since the
inception of the program in 2008.
