In support of Governor Markell’s STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics) initiative, Delaware
Technical Community College offers a
wide variety of STEM camps for youth
of all ages. The Delaware STEM Council
was formed in 2010 to ensure Delaware’s
children graduate more ready to succeed
in the high-wage jobs of tomorrow.
The youth camps are designed to
make learning fun and exciting and to
encourage students to explore careers
in science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics.

Creative Writing: Writing
Your Way
Writing should not be hard work—
no grades, no homework, just creating
compelling and engaging stories which allow
readers to experience what matters to you
most. You can write in whatever form inspires
you from prose (memoir, fiction) to poetry
and read your work out loud in a safe, positive
environment. Skills developed through a
creative writing workshop improve literacy skills
and build self-esteem. Lisa Graff has published
numerous essays in magazines such as Woman’s
World, Delaware Beach Life and The Washington
Post. Her column Retirement 101 is published
bimonthly in the Cape Gazette. Please bring
either paper or a laptop for your writings.

interactive way to learn how computers work,
how to manipulate the electronic world around
you, and the basics of computer programming..
Build your own to take home at the end of the
week! Students will receive a full Raspberry Pi
Unit with SD memory card the first day, but are
not permitted to take the Raspberry Pi home
until the final day of camp. Computer cost is
included in tuition. Instructor: Eric Roberts
