Karine MOUSSEAU, new Chairman of Martinique Tourism Authority Following a territorial organization reform and a popular vote on December 13th, 2015, Martinique local government is now endowed with of a new political majority chaired by a new President Mr. Alfred MARIE-JEANNE. Thus, on January 19th, 2016, Mrs. Karine MOUSSEAU, eminent member of the new territorial assembly of Martinique, took over from karine ROY-CAMILLE at the helm of the Tourism Authority. Mother of a 16 year-old boy, and aged 44, Hon. Mrs. Karine MOUSSEAU is a University graduate from Panthéon Sorbonne in Paris-1, a teacher of Economics and Social Sciences in a high-school, and a Municipal Councilor at le François, Martinique. Keen on economics, Mrs. MOUSSEAU is a staunch advocate of sustainable development and pleads for the restructuration of the leisure hotel industry in Martinique. Her objective is that no more hotels should close. She will also encourage the opening of new hotels. More widely, the chairmanship settled several priorities including the recruitment of a new Managing Director for the Martinique Tourism Authority and the continuation of actions in favor of the cruise sector to improve product delivery, enhance guests’ experience in order to win the cruise lines’ loyalty such as the generalization of acceptance of the dollar and English in the different businesses.
