Against this backdrop, how else could anyone describe the new administration of Adeleke University Ede Osun State than to say, 'they hit the ground running.' The new administration was formally inaugurated on Friday July 29, 2016 during a colourful occasion that attracted dignitaries from within and outside the state of Osun. The President/ Vice Chancellor Prof. Dayo Alao during his acceptance speech made it clear that within a short while, Adeleke University which presently occupies 47th position in the national private University ranking will be among the first 10. In a society where leaders say things to douse tension and gain cheap popularity, many would wonder whether the President/ Vice Chancellor was following the trend. But, he proved that as a leader per excellence, he meant every statement he uttered during his acceptance speech. To this end, the President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Ekundayo Samuel Alao with other Principal Officers after their first meeting upon resumption on Monday August 1, 2016 took a working tour of the campus. The tour took them to the hostels, the different faculties and finally to the construction site for the staff quarters. It also gave them firsthand information on certain issues that need to be strengthened in order to achieve the goal of positioning Adeleke University to be among the first ten private universities in Nigeria in the nearest future. As the President/Vice Chancellor and his team settle down to work, one could without mincing words say, this is indeed the dawn of a new era in AU. Hence all hands must be on deck in order to ensure the successful accomplishment of the set goal. PHILOSOPHY The University serves as a vehicle for national unity, peaceful coexistence and scholarship where present and future leaders of our nation are natured. As a University of the highest quality, it is open to men and women without discrimination to culture, race, religion and or socio-economic background. The University upholds the principle of equity, justice, fairness and universality of knowledge. Though a young man, he has over 23 years experience as a University administrator. Dr. Olayinka is joining this team with a clear vision and he has captured it thus, 'to build a virile, dynamic and responsive Registry that is compact, efficient and anchored on Information Technology.' How he will realize this vision is never in doubt when one realizes some of his strength which includes, competence in communication, competence in Personnel Matters, ccompetence in student matters, ccompetence in Quality Assurance in HE and competence in advancement Related matters. and the bridge between the new administration and the old. Olugbenga Efuntade Pastor in July, 2016. Vice-President Spiritual Life/ University A graduate of Estate Management from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, PGD in Pastoral Ministry from Babcock University, Masters in Pastoral Ministry from Lassiera University, California, United States. He is currently undergoing a Doctoral studies in Missiology at the University of South Africa, Pretoria. He started his career as an entrepreneur before heeding the call to ministry. Since, he joined the ministry; he has nurtured and mentored many young and old people through his seminars on personal growth and development. He is a scholar, teacher, facilitator, presenter and counsellor who have presented papers both locally and internationally. Being a faith-based University, the institution runs the educational philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church which takes care of the learners' Head, Heart and the Hand. As the Vice President Spiritual Life/University Pastor, Pastor Efuntade is to plan, and structure the spiritual activities of the university community which will include building both the students and the working staff spiritually. At a time of spiritual confusion, he will be pioneering this effort to ensure that the university community will embrace the end time message which is predicated on the three angel's message as contained in Revelation 14: 6-9. As the spiritual leader, he will also be focusing on, impacting knowledge, growing leaders who will maximize their potentials and ensuring social justice in Adeleke University. ADELEKE UNIVERSITY GRADUATES SECOND SET (The Class of Royals) I t was a mixture of beauty and brain as Adeleke University graduated 227 students on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from her 14 NUC accredited programmes at the main campus in Ede, Osun state. The programmes include: Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Sciences and Business/Social sciences. The results of the graduands revealed that, 23 graduated with first class, 142 with second class upper, 108 with second class lower and 3 with third class. The Pro-Chancellor and Founder of the University, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke while addressing the graduands and their parents, emphasised his commitment to ensuring that the vision, mission and mandate of the institution are sustained with special focus on stability and growth of every aspects of the institution. The representative of Osun State Governor, Elder Sunday Owoeye was in high spirit while delivering the Governor's commencement speech. He implored the graduands to imbibe the good virtues they have been exposed to while pursuing their studies in Adeleke University. He further emphasized the role of entrepreneurship especially in consideration of dwindling economic realities of our nation. He made a case for agro-value chain.
