Cruisin’ for a Cure
In October of 2007 the Marvin Lewis
Community Fund, in collaboration with Advertising Vehicles, Baker Concrete, the Cincinnati
Bengals, Cris Collinsworth Foundation, Kroger,
McCluskey Chevrolet, National City, and Radio
One, met a real need for the ProScan Pink Ribbon
Center in Over-the-Rhine, transportation. Due to
the expense of traveling and lack of awareness, many
women fail to get mammograms on a regular basis. The
combination of the vans coupled with a strong radio
presence from Radio One has made measurable results
as the center continues to grow. Since the program launched,
the center has seen more than 412 patients and the vans have
driven 126 patients.
ProScan Pink Ribbon Center
The ProScan Pink Ribbon Center enhances the lives of women
by providing early detection screenings for low-income,
eligible, uninsured women in Over-the-Rhine. Breast cancer
patients are offered support, access to treatment and

comfort throughout their healing process.

Minorities in Mathematics,
Science & Engineering
Minorities in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering considers
their most significant achievements their students and
teachers. Their teachers implement a comprehensive and
integrated series of activities that address key transition
points from creating awareness and excitement to acquire math and
science skills during grades 5 - 12. M2SE helps students understand
that they have the ability to succeed. When students succeed - we all
benefit - our schools and our communities.

Success by 6
Children enter kindergarten prepared to succeed is the goal that drives
Success By 6, a strategic priority of the United Way of Greater
Cincinnati. Success By 6 has four objectives to achieve this goal:
create community will to improve school readiness, measure progress
of children before and at kindergarten entry, improve provider and
parent capacity to meet the learning needs of children, and improve
coordination, efficiency andfunding of the services
delivery system.

Youth, Incorporated
Teens push the boundaries of their surroundings and some step over
the line. AtYouth, Incorporated they meet children who, despite their
parents best efforts, have gotten in trouble with the courts. In their
residential homes, teens learn first-hand about the human side of their
poor behavior. The struggles and stories are as unique as each child.
After they listen, they ask the children to set goals to
improve their situation. They hold them accountable
for how well they have done.
