A PUBLICATION OF SARATOGA COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION Annual Swapfest—March 10 Test Session Results Our annual Swapfest was held on March 10. It is the replacement for normal monthly club meeting, The room was packed with hams meeting friends, old an new. Many found that bargain they were seeking to help round out the shack, or fix a project. Dave B had gallons of coffee and a ton of pastries for us to taste. After the Swapfest, at Noon, we held a test session for new and upgrading hams. It was a very successful session. We had 11 candidates. The world now had 5 brand new Techs, 1 upgraded General, and 4 (count them, 4) upgraded Extra Class operators . Darlene and Peter anchored the club booth, selling Raffel tickets, and taking membship dues. We raffled off a handheld dual band radio and we split the remainder of the money collected for the radio in a 50-50 worth a wopping $147. Thanks to the examiners, Frank (KA2QYE), Diana (W2NU), Dave (N2FEP), Bill (KC2NXC), Jim (K2LM), Larry (NT2B), and Jim (KG2H). Our next session will be Sept 8, at 9:30 AM at the same location, the Solar Building.
