2016 ACE AWARD HONOREES
In 1901, master tailors Edwin Goodman and Herman Bergdorf formed the Bergdorf
Goodman partnership, creating beautiful and stylish clothing for distinguished
women. The store moved to the former site of the Cornelius Vanderbilt mansion, just
steps from Central Park, in 1928, and over the years Bergdorf Goodman emerged
as a leader in discovering European and American talent. Many influential designers
have made their debut at the store, which has adapted to the changing needs of
global shoppers while preserving its heritage and unique worldwide reputation. In
1990, Bergdorf Goodman moved the men’s store across the street, opening the only
full-line luxury men’s specialty store on 5th Avenue.
BERGDORF GOODMAN
Under the leadership of Joshua Schulman, President of Bergdorf Goodman and
NMG International, the company is currently in the midst of BG 20|20, a five-year
plan to renovate and reimagine the Women’s Store, increasing selling space, aligning
categories and expanding services. The Sixth Floor, reconceived as a lo!like space for
the Modernist Collections, opened in September 2015. The new Jewelry Salon was
unveiled in December 2015 as a luxurious store within a store with its own entrance
on 57th Street. And a complete, once-in-a-generation reinvention of the Main Floor as the
ultimate destination for luxury accessories will debut in September.
In the next phase, the executive offices will relocate to an adjacent space above the Paris
Theatre in 2018, opening the Eighth and Ninth Floors for additional retail space and creating
new opportunities within the legendary New York destination.
Bergdorf Goodman is also a digital leader, with an award-winning blog and more than 1 million
Instagram followers. BG.com showcases coveted collections for men and women, including
exclusive offerings from some of the world’s most desired brands.

Upon the birth of the couple’s first child, Shane, Jennifer began to
look for a piece of jewelry that not only spelled his name, but also
expressed her own personal style. Unable to find anything unique,

she styled with a long, thick link chain. When friends, family and even
strangers began to request that Jennifer design one for them, Jennifer
Fisher jewelry was born in 2005.

Throughout its 75+ year journey, Ray-Ban has pushed boundaries in music, art
and entertainment as a universally recognized symbol of cool, and the preferred
accessory of celebrities and public figures. The brand has had a lasting
influence on culture, stemming from its strong heritage, timeless styles and
excellence in quality.
Ray-Ban, whose name origins come from “banishing rays,” is the design pioneer
of the iconoclastic styles that reinvented eyewear as a fashion accessory with
the most recognizable shapes in the industry.
You can’t think of the Aviator, the first tear drop shape lens created in 1937,
without thinking of Tom Cruise in Top Gun, or the classic Wayfarer, the first acetate
frame created in 1952, without thinking about rock’n’roll. It would be impossible
to imagine Denzel Washington in Malcom X without the retro intellectual look of
the 1986 Clubmaster.
RAY-BAN
The Ray-Ban journey has come a long way since WWII and its first Aviator model. Since then, it has
grown exponentially in popularity, carrying a message of individuality for men, women and children
across generations, particularly young people.
Today, Ray-Ban holds a place among the likes of Apple, Google and Starbucks as one of the brands
most-loved by millennials. The brand continues to play a leading role in pop culture by partnering
with influencers to engage the “purposely creative,” through its deep ties to the music industry
and through unique collaborations with artists and curators to push boundaries, experiences and
personal expression.
BRAND OF THE YEAR
Since 1937, Ray-Ban has been at the forefront of style, pop culture and
self-expression. Its timeless and iconic styles coupled with its passion and unique
history has made it the most popular eyewear brand in the world.
