It was great to see full houses every night for a varied, and at points challenging programme which reflected the wealth and diversity of jazz talent in this country. We hope you were able to check out some of it for yourself. A special mention to ‘Brit Jazz Radio’, our inaugural radio station effort which really heightened the festival buzz. It was broadcast on FM and online over the two weeks and now continues 24/7 online. Listen in at www.ronniescotts.co.uk. Special guest presenters, live shows, interviews, latest news and the best of recorded jazz ... Nice. September starts with a trio of top vocalists Terry Reid, Liane Carroll and Mica Paris. Other highlights - a week’s run for premier Scottish soul/funksters Average White Band (already sold out, sorry), US hip-hop influenced Hypnotic Brass and effortlessly cool vocalist Jose James, plus Nigel Kennedy leading a very special gig to celebrate Jimi Hendrix’s last ever performance on stage at Ronnie Scott’s precisely 40 years ago. Following this, a night to commemorate the recent and tragic passing of our beloved house drummer, Chris Dagley. Taking us into October, Grammy Award-Winning guitarist/ singer Jose Feliciano plays 4 nights, plus return trips for Gilad Atzmon celebrating 10 years of the Orient House, Snowboy, Clare Teal, Manu Dibango , Carmen Lundy, Ernie Watts, Stacey Kent and Brian Auger.
