Hacking isn’t just something for computer
nerds. The hacker mindset can be applied
to everything! By learning how to modify
existing designs and patterns in your life,
you’ll get a lot farther and have a lot more
fun than you would if you started from
scratch. We’ll start out with some basic
old-tech hacks like using rubber band
power and balloons to make boring toys
more exciting. After this, we’ll learn how to
use electronic circuits to add cool features
to some everyday devices. We’ll conclude
with learning some of the most basic
software concepts and techniques that
you can use to modify and add features
to your favorite apps and programs. Each
day will feature an information segment
covering current hacking-related news
and a fun team-building game or activity.

Camps by Cluster for Parents
and Youth KICK Programs –
Assisting Career Exploration
Career clusters are groups of similar occupations and industries. They were developed by
the U.S. Department of Education as a way to organize career planning. Career clusters
enable youth to explore several career options within a field that might be of interest to
them. As a parent or as a youth, we know you are interested in experiences to help you
explore, navigate and plan for your future. Career clusters provide an organized way that
links education with business and industry occupations and introduces you to the exciting
range of careers available in today’s world of work.
The list below shows which career fields a particular KICK program applies. This way, if
you have a particular career interest you want to explore, it is easy to identify the KICK
program to investigate further.
