ricardo imperatore LINE UP 2013 bio... The first appearance of Ricardo Imperatore in the musical scenario, Rio de Janeiro, was as drummer and co-founder of the Band Bel, in 1984. The band used to drink at samba and rock fountains. The mix was explosive at the dancefloors.!It sounded like a powerful samba groovy machine. Much ahead of it's own time they were at the scene for 10 years, until 1994. After the band Imperatore dived into a solo carrer as a drummer/percussionist. From 1995 to 2000 he colaborated or toured with artists such as, Natalie Cole, Susan Vega, Man At Work, Midnight Oil, Marisa Monte, Titãs, Tom Capone, Monobloco, Ivo Meirelles, Cassiano among others. From 2001 Imperatore started the solo project, boTECOeletro. Brazilian music is the focus. Folk, erudit, pop, roots. Imperatore, goes where he can find that music, and use it as the source to produce his own work. In two years of research, the musician Imperatore joined all these elements together to create boTECOeletro. Composed and produced by him the album boTECOeletro, his first solo, was elected the best electronic album in Brazil at 2005 during the TIM Music Awards 2005 (brazilian Grammy). “Brazilianity” is the basic concept of the record " says him. "Botecoeletro made a strong impression on me since I heard it for the first time. I'm glad everybody will be able to listen to it." Marisa Monte With this first album Imperatore toured Europe, US, Latin America and Africa. New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelone, Vienna, Torino, Bologna, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Porto, Copenhagen, Liechtenstein, Antwerp, Reunion Islands, Mexico City, La Paz, Rio, Sao Paolo and others. Imperatore is now involved with his second solo album, boTECOeletro Volume 2. It's fresh and it's already out there. Released in january 2013 it comes with the same concept: Brazil as source. The world as aim. discography... albuns boTECOeletro vol. 2 Bolacha Discos 2013 boTECOeletro Nikita Records 2004 Winner of TIM Music Award 2005 Category - best CD of Electronic Music discography... compilations Coconutzmass Novo Brasil Nova Radio Nova 2001 Paris Global Bass Vol. 2 2011 Denmark Urban Brazil Future World Funk 2002 London 100% Hip Hop Brazil ONErpm 2012 boTECOeletro visita as Baianas Favela Chic Postonove 3 2003 Paris Globaltronica World Electronic Sounds Vol. 2 2012 Coconutzmass FIFA 2006 Sambatronic Great Electronic Sambas 2012 boTECOeletro vol. 2 release... I lost track of time, but I ended up meeting you here. Where? At our favorite dive-bar (what we call the boteco). This is where ideas flow. It's the place where Ricardo Imperatore's new album, "boTECOeletro Volume 2" comes from. Improbability guides this project, where the master of ceremonies, one of the greatest Brazilian writers of all time, João Ubaldo Ribeiro, is an ex-drinker, but no less a "botequeiro" Everything and everyone will eventually come together and rub elbows at the boteco. Ideas and light spring from this friction and contact. To prove it all comes from the same source, check out the ciranda-carimbó propellerhead-ized "Copacabana Love & War." Or, "Carimbó Sirimbó Curió," which unites the mangue beat of Chico Science with the master of Carimbó, Pinduca, in single organic groove. And, if the Judgement Day is coming, it'll be in the form of "Juízo Final," with the master of samba, Nelson Cavaquinho, filtered and distorted dubwise on top of beats by Sly Dunbar. Only at the boteco will you hear "Bela Mocidade," a fanfare of kuduro, funk, vocals by Nina Becker and a bassline by Bi Ribeiro. Or "Mr. E," which throws together Armenia, Northeastern Brazil, the Beastie Boys and Flea, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, caught making a pass at Ricardo's wife on the answering machine. Brazilian rock star, Roberto Frejat, brings the guitars on "Baden Power," a tribute to the late Baden Powell, one of the world's greatest acoustic guitar players. Not content to just use Zé Ramalho's original vocals (with his blessing), "Avohai" goes light years beyond with extra vocals by Otto and Fenix and takes it to a lysergic, epic, poetic and ethnic delirium. A collection of encounters, freak outs, electronic trips and happy accidents in the studio, "boTECOeletro Volume 2" is enough reason to have just another one for the road. to listen and watch... boTECOeletro vol. 2 2013 https://soundcloud.com/botecoeletro/sets/botecoeletro-volume-2 boTECOeletro 2004 https://soundcloud.com/botecoeletro/sets/botecoeletro boTECOeletro Paleo - Switzerland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEAyKP5qKiw boTECOeletro Multiplicidade Oi Futuro - Rio de Janeiro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m9qLxUk00M H2O Exhibition Rio de Janeiro http://vimeo.com/14586869 technical infos... boTECOeletro vol. 2 input list solo...
