Cuddly Critters Classroom Schedule 6:00-‐7:00 Combined with Infants & Young Preschool for Quiet Activities 7:00-‐8:00 Small Group • Science & Sensory • Free Play 8:00-‐8:30 Stories and Music & Movement 8:30-‐9:00 Breakfast 9:00-‐9:30 Diapers Free Play 9:30-‐9:45 Group Time • Welcome Song • Weather • Theme Songs, Stories, Rhymes & Activities 9:45-‐10:15 Small Group • Art • Social/Emotional 10:15-‐11:00 Large Muscle (outside or inside) 11:00-‐11:30 Small Group • Diapers/Fine Motor • Basic Skills 11:30-‐12:00 Lunch 12:00-‐3:00 Rest Time Individual Development Stories Diapers 3:00-‐3:30 Snack 3:30-‐4:00 Small Group • Language • Free Play Large Muscle (inside or outside) Diapers Small Group • Science & Sensory • Free Play (art easel open) 4:00-‐4:45 4:45-‐5:15 5:15-‐5:45 Stories and Music & Movement 5:45-‐6:15 Notes: Combined with Young Preschool for Indoor Large Muscle • The last 5-‐10 minutes of each activity time and large muscle time is used for cleaning up & getting ready for the next activity (except for Group Time) • Basic Skill & Language activities are not done during Group Time • The morning & afternoon Science and Sensory Activities are the same to allow both early arrivers late leavers and opportunity to participate. • All planned games, finger plays, songs, etc. can be repeated throughout the week during Free Play as an option • During Free Play 1 staff member is required to engage in play with the children. A set of toys should be taken off the shelf to encourage play (rotate toys from shelf throughout Free Play). • During Small Group Time, both activities should happen at the same time and children given the opportunity to participate in both activities. Each staff person should be involved with a group of children. • Indoor activities can be done outside if weather is appropriate, the classroom is not interfering with other classrooms using the playground, and all materials are brought inside when done. This is not an opportunity for additional free play outside. • Social Emotional, Large Muscle, and Individual Development Activities are repeated throughout the week and expected to be done.
