We struggle to be more loving and generous, more caring and faithful, yet too easily we accept our culture’s stress on individualism and material success. Forgive our neglect of our neighbors’ needs, content instead with the peace of solitude and the injustice of silence. Forgive our focus on the imperfections of others without recognizing our own. Help us to seek your will. Help us to trust in your loving power that can transform and heal us. Guide us to practice living out that love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (A moment of silence for personal reflection and confession.)
