director, Maeve Lewis, said.
"Pope Benedict has
passed up a glorious
opportunity to address the
core issue in the clerical
sexual abuse scandal: the
deliberate policy of the
Catholic church at the
highest levels to protect sex
offenders, thereby
endangering children."
Lewis also accused the
Pope of dodging Vatican
responsibility for failing to
tackle child abuse. "If the
church cannot acknowledge
this fundamental truth, it is
still in denial," she added.

appear so from my reading
of what the pope is saying,
so that's positive but we
need clarification," he said.
In a pastoral letter to
Irish Catholics, the pope
castigated Irish bishops for
"grave errors of judgment"
in their handling of the
paedophilia scandal.
But he made no mention

specific punishments for
bishops who have been
blamed by victims and Irish
government inquiries for
having concealed the abuse.

that even his closest associate,
who used to work as an auto
driver, was rolling in money,
police said, Indian Express
reported.
The swami took good care
of the people loyal to him.
Police said Dwivedi elevated
the financial standing of his
second-in-command, Parveen
Kumar, also arrested along
with him on February 25.
Sources said Kumar, a
native of Jhajjar in Haryana,
would drive an auto-rickshaw
till 2008. Two years after he
started working with
Dwivedi, Kumar drove a
Honda City — it was seized
by the police during his arrest.
“He was Dwivedi's face in the
racket. He was in charge of the
logistics; he also made and
finalised the deals. Whenever
Dwivedi was busy giving
sermons, Kumar took charge
of the racket,” a senior police
officer said.
A police team, meanwhile,
recovered a rifle and other
weapons purportedly
belonging to Dwivedi
from his residence in
Chitrakoot, Uttar
Pradesh, after a raid.
Sources said it also
came to light during
the raid that Dwivedi's
personal bodyguards
carried firearms.
“We first need to
assess and seize his
property. He has many
areas within the
Capital where he
functioned. We need to
investigate whether
the house owners
knew about his
operations,” a senior
police officer said. The
police are, meanwhile,
also probing the
allegations made by
the father of a Jaipurbased girl who said
Dwivedi was behind
the abduction of his
daughter. The 22-yearold woman is missing
since December 23 last
year.

t is human to love or hate. And the natural instincts of attraction towards opposite sex is the thing common to people of all languages and colours. The
attraction leads to infatuation, love and eventually reciprocated by the expression of intimacy between the lovers. The relationship between them is
sometimes legitimate, i.e within the purvue of the institution of marriage, and sometimes illegitimate, i.e the relationship outside the institution of
marriage. One must understand the needs of the self. Everybody has its desire and its needs. Eating, drinking, sleeping, are all basic needs of the body.
When the needs are met, then the self is at ease and peace. But sometimes exulting in it beyond one's need would lead to ones own destruction. Or not

from the recent “Love Jihad”
episode which was raked up
by the right wing forces; they
have conveniently used this
lethal tool to malign the
Muslim community, so
much so that the state
governments of Karnataka
and Kerala had to intervene
by setting up special
committees to investigate
their startling and ridiculous
accusations. So, what
exactly were the
accusations? They claimed
that a conspiracy titled
“Love Jihad” was being
hatched by a fringe in the
Muslim community whose
mission was to lure Hindu
girls into love traps and
eventually persuade them to
marry only after
embracing Islam, also they
claimed that special
instructions were given to
breed at least 4 kids, and that
the College students and
working girls would be the
p r i m e t a rg e t , a n d o n
completing their mission the
organization pledged a sum
of one lakh rupees and
financial help to the youth to
start business, free mobile
phone, bikes and fashionable
dresses are offered to them as
tools for the mission they
claimed. The voices of the
main stream media and the
right wing forces resonated
loud and clear that this
conspiracy was hatched with
the intention of escalating
the Muslim population.
Well, where did the
mischievous term “Love
Jihad” originate? What is the
source and authenticity of
these malicious claims? Is
there an iota of reality to all
these allegations? No
Muslim organization ever
coined this term, it was a
brainchild of the very
conspirators. One may then
ask, aren't there any cases
where Muslim boys have
married Hindu girls and also
embraced Islam, the answer
is an emphatic yes! But, the
vice versa is also true;
nobody ponders over this
aspect of it, why not blow
the trumpet of “Love
Hindutva”? Any sane
unbiased person with a
modicum of intellect would
acknowledge that such cases
often happen out of pure
infatuation that usually
happens in college and post
college days when the youth
are at the peak of their
prowess, such things are a
consequence of the natural
disposition of heedless men
and women, it has nothing to
do with the outrageous
claims of “love and
marriage for conversion”.

everal years after the
c o l l a p s e o f
c o m m u n i s m ,
thousands of prostitutes are
still flocking to Dubai, the
trade centre of the United
Arab Emirates (UAE), from
the countries of the former
Soviet Union. And although
prostitution is illegal in the
emirate, this appalling trade
in human flesh is a highprofile activity in Dubai.
Many of the 'night
butterflies', as prostitutes are
called in Russian, are young
Muslim women - some
former students - who came
looking for work but have
ended in a trap of sin,
p o v e r t y, e x p l o i t a t i o n ,
hopelessness and fear.
Indeed, those who try to
escape their ordeal often
only manage to get killed by
pimps and others who have
an interest in seeing them
secure in their cages. They
are in dire need of rescue not condemnation - and
rehabilitation to prepare
them for a life fit for Muslim
women.
There are now several
thousand prostitutes in
Dubai. Apart from a few
African women, they come
from Russia, the Ukraine,
Georgia, Kazakhstan,
Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan,
Chechenya, Kyrgyzstan and
other republics of the socalled Commonwealth of
Independent States (CIS).
This may be a trickle
compared to the hundreds of
thousands of young women
that flooded into Western
Europe when the Soviet
Union collapsed, but it is
already causing great
embarrassment in a sparselypopulated Muslim country,
by agents who then
confiscate their passports,
set them to 'work' and force
them to buy back their
travelling documents in
addition to paying for the
arranged visas and the awful
accommodation they are
given. As soon as the visas
expire the women are on the
run and become entirely
dependent on their pimps.

equivalent to a fine of ú16.

that Dwivedi was arrested
following a tip-off from
intelligence agencies about a
suspicious transaction
estimated to be in hundreds
of crores of rupees which
was carried out from US into
different accounts held by
Dwivedi.
A diary recovered from
the swami shows he owned
assets worth nearly Rs 2,500
crores. The diary lists names
of nearly 600 call girls., a

newspaper Nai Dunia.

Despite their legally
precarious position, the
prostitutes are becoming
bolder and bolder thronging Dubai's beaches,
night-clubs and hotel bars,
and openly walking the
streets. The majority of their
clients are Arabs but the
western expatriates are also
coveted patrons.
They have in fact become
so bold, that even seasoned
expatriates are shocked by
their aggressiveness.
According to one of the very
rare foreign reports on the
topic, a Swiss engineer who
has worked in most of the
Gulf States, including Oman
and Bahrain, finds their
behaviour unprecedented.
A recent article in the
London-based Sunday Times
quoted him as saying: ''I have
never seen such in-your-
face prostitution as this. I
had literally just stepped
into the lift of my hotel
when a Russian girl tried
to invite herself into my
hotel room.' Yet, the
authorities turn a blind eye
to this outrage, largely
because the business
community, both Arab
and expatriate, prefers
things this way. Dubai,
like Bahrain, 'has
prospered as a centre for
fun-starved Saudis,' as the
Sunday Times report puts
it.
Dubai owes most of
its prosperity to its status
as the region's tax-free
centre. No longer able to
rely on its oil reserves, it
defers to the business
community which, like
secular Gulf Arabs, wants
to preserve a Shari'ah-free
zone in the region. The six
remaining members of the
UAE, and their western
protectors, share Dubai's
antipathy to an Islamic
way of life and back its
decision to tolerate the
prostitution racket.
This explains the
extraordinary denial by
the emirate's police that
the racket exists or that
there are large numbers of
foreign women who are
illegal immigrants as a
result of the expiry of their
visas or confiscation of
their passports by the
pimps. It also explains
why the local media are
under orders from the
authorities not to
comment on the issue.

Boy Raped And Killed

DUBAI — A man who allegedly
raped and murdered a six-year-old boy
in the bathroom of a mosque in Dubai
has been arrested. A Dubai Police
source said the operations room
received information that a Pakistani
child was found dead in the bathroom
of a mosque located in Al Qusais.
When the police reached the
mosque, a man told them that he had
come to the mosque for Duhr prayers
and that when he went to the bathroom
to prepare for it, he saw traces of blood
on the floor after which he saw the
child behind the door. The boy's pants
had been removed.
The police, upon entering the
bathroom, noticed that the child had
been raped. They took the body to the
General Department of Forensic
Medicine and launched an
investigation. Later, a Bahraini
national was arrested on the suspicion
of committing the crime.
He confessed to the crime during
interrogation. He said he consumed
alcohol late into the night on Thursday
and went to the mosque to perform Eid
prayers on Friday and returned home.
He continued drinking alcohol and
later went out to visit his friend to
celebrate the festival.
Around 9.30am, he left his friend's
house and went to the mosque. He saw
three children on the street, who asked
him for Eid gifts.
The man told the police that he saw a
boy, whose age he guessed to be
around nine. He told the boy that he
had no money on him but he would
give money if the latter followed him.
He then took the boy to the bathroom
in the mosque, locked the door and
raped him during which he covered the
boy's nose and mouth with his hands to
prevent him from screaming.
He later noticed that the child had
stopped moving, so he left him there
and fled the scene. He returned home
and had a shower.
The suspect told the police that he
did not know the boy and that day was
the first time he had seen him. He also
confessed that it was not the first time
he had had forcible sex with males.

Good Family Life
When you examine the
family in the west today you
will find that families are
disintegrating and the

families and protecting them
from things that could harm
them, and preserving family

member of the family an
important role in life.

and Ranjithas in the Indian
subcontinent. This is not the
first time that we have heard
about a Swamiji involved in
sex scandal. It is not the first
time that we have have heard
about an actress involved in
sex scandal. Where are these
people being tutored to do
s u c h
t h i n g s ?
Firstly, it is the belief of
the people that needs to be
blamed. It is the masses that
produce people like
Nityananda. When people
are ready to get fooled by
beautiful speeches, and
believe that man can become
god, these culprits like
Nityananda take advantage
of their belief and thereafter
exploit them. People must
never consider a man or a
woman to be god. Man has
all the weakness. He wants to
eat to survive, he wants to
answer the call of nature (he
visits the toilets), he needs to
sleep, he needs to rest and so
on. Man is mortal, but God is
immortal. God does not need
food, water, sleep or
anything. Man needs all of it.

through whom he finds
tranquillity and repose.

had not worshiped
Nityananda, he would have

Rome, who claim to celibate
but, eventually ended up in
debauchery, for having had
sex with young boys and
other women. We have heard
even in the books of
Mythology that even
Vishwamitra could not resist
the beauty of Menaka. Even
in the Mythological and
fictious stories it never
happened. Then why have
false hopes? God has created
us to live a natural life in
which man's nature is
created. Hence, I blame the
belief of the people first.
S e c o n d l y, I w o u l d
condemn today's movie
industry that is filled with
obscenities and nudism.
Even to sell a match box
we find a woman coming
in front of the screen in
mini skirts. What are the
commercial Ads trying to
do? Exploit womanhood?
These women who act in
movies and TV
commercials, lose their
level of modesty and
chastity from their selves.
They become immune to
shamelessness. And these
women actresses have a
miserable marital lives.
Their families often break
due to lack of trust
between the partners.
Which husband would
feel comfortable to see his
wife dancing with another
man dressed up like a live
band singer? Its a total
chaos. It is the today's
Movie Industry that
manufactures such
Ranjithas. And not to
forget the public who
watch these movies by
paying the movie tickets
and supporting the movie
producers. The people
who watch the obscenities
in the form of movies are
also adding to this
immoral culture.
And Thirdly, I would
blame the inadequate man
made law that lacks stern
punishments to check the
rise of such immoral
societies. What would the
current Indian law do,
even after the pair being
convicted for their crime?
Would they be convicted
at all, missing the loop
holes of the existing law?
People dont fear the
existing law and order. In
fact, the people who
suppose to maintain the
law and order are
corrupted to the core.
There is a need for a
change in the system, an
alternative system, that
can tackle all the existing
problems of our society.
In my view, with 100%
conviction, the alternative
is Islam. In Islam,
intermingling of sexes is
not allowed. In Islam,
women are not allowed to
reveal their beauty to
strange men. In Islam,
there is a strict Shariah
law that punishes those
indulging in extra marital
affairs with a death
penalty (for the married
person) or hundred flogs
(for the unmarried
person). And the last but
not the least, in Islam, no
Muslim is allowed to
worship humans,
monkeys, snakes or idols.
Hence, people like
Swamijis have no place in
the Islamic society. The
complete system for an
aspiring nation is Islam. If
the people are willing to
change, then surely the
current situation will
change.

Islamic Ruling Concerning
Homosexuality
I

homosexuality as a
sexual deviation leading
to a perverted act which goes
against the natural order that
GOD intended for mankind.
It is a corruption of the man's
sexuality and a crime against
the opposite sex. Therefore,
the Islamic shari'ah strictly
prohibits the practice of this
perverted act. This is
mentioned in many places in
the holy Qur'an.
The story of the people of the
prophet Lut who were
addicted to this practice, is
the best example. Prophet
Lut, (peace be upon him)
said to his people: "Verily,
you do sodomy with men,
and rob the wayfarer! And
practice all wickedness in
your meetings," (Qur'an
29:29). And he said to them:
"Of all the creatures of the
world, will you approach
males, and leave those whom
GOD has created for you to
be your wives? Nay, you are
a trespassing people!"
(Qur'an 26:165-166) But
their answer to Prophet Lut
(Peace be upon him)
was: "Bring us the
Wrath
of Allah if
you
are telling us
the
T r u t h. " (AlAnkabut, 29:29). And so
Allah gave them
the
punishment they deserved:
"And We rained on them a
rain of torment. And how
evil was the rain of those
who had been warned,"
(Qur'an 26:173).
Just as a person who has a
sexual urge should not
satisfy it by committing
adultery, a person who has
this perverted thought
should not act upon it. In
order to maintain the purity
of the society, most Muslim
scholars have ruled that the
punishment for this act
should be the same as for
adultery (i.e. one hundred
whiplashes for the man who
has never married, and death
by stoning for the married
man). Some have even ruled
that it should be death for
both partners, because the
Prophet, (peace be upon
him), said: "Kill the doer and
the one to whom it was
done." (Related by AlBayhaqi).

The Jurists say that the
last verse quoted above is the
punishment for fornicators
who have never been

married before committing
the crime of Zina, he or she is
to be punished by stoning to
death. This is established by
the practise of the Prophet
(may peace be upon him). If
they are not punished in this
world and die without
repentance (by regretting,
leaving the sin, and so forth),
they will be punished in the
Fire with whips of fire.
In a tradition transmitted
by Bukhari, on the authority
of Samurah ibn Jundab (may
God be pleased with him),
concerning a dream of the
Prophet in which the Prophet
accompanied by Jibreel and
Mikaail, the Prophet said:
"We went on and arrived
near a pit which was like an
oven, out of which we could
hear cries. We glanced into it
and saw naked men and
women, who cried out when
the flames reached them
from below. I asked, "Who
are these, o Jibreel?" He
replied: "Males and females
who have committed
fornication."
In explaining the
meaning of the verse
concerning Hell, "It has
seven gates, to each of these
gates a class (of sinners) is
assigned." (15:44); `Ataa
says: "The most severe of
these gates in terms of heat,
pain, sorrow, and stinking air
is the gate for the doers of
fornication, who did it
(even) after knowing the
awfulness of it."

prohibits any love affairs
even with girls of the same
community, even if boys
are having love affairs with
absolutely no intention of
conversion too, it is still
highly disgusting and
worth lampooning.
The conspirators left no
stone unturned to thwart all
efforts that were leading to
uncover the truth. It is
learnt that, in a small town
called Sullia in Karnataka
the act of one of the student
in distributing news report
which was telling the true
stories behind “Love
Jihad” drama had
infuriated Sangha Parivar's
student wing ABVP
resulting in clashes
between the two groups.
What conclusion can be
drawn out of this episode?
The architects of the
“Love Jihad” propaganda
had counted their
chickens even before
hatching. They knew
exactly what they were up
to, and they had
succeeded in their
meticulously planned
mission. What did the
perpetrators of this
vicious campaign
accomplish? Firstly, they
managed to polarize the
society on communal
lines, foster mutual hatred
and suspicion which
apparently happens to the
bedrock of their obscure
manifesto. Secondly, they
were victorious in
creating a fear psychosis
in the fragile minds of
parents as a consequence
their wards would be
brainwashed into
suspecting every boy of
the Muslim community.
The culmination of all this
would result in strained
relationships between
innocent Muslims and
Hindus who have coexisted in harmony for
generations. Its time we
use our rationale and not
succumb to the evil
designs of hate mongers.
Tomorrow, we should not
be astonished if a new
cheap conspiracy is
hatched to defame the
Muslims.
