Pics from Wednesday & Thursday Evenings
On Wednesday, when the competition tension diminished, the CEOI participants went on a walk round
Rzeszow’s center. On Thursday, during
the day, they took part in the second
competition. In the evening they all
gathered in Index Pub to relax a bit
after two days of relentless rivalry.
Sightseeing the Subcarpathian region
The Bieszczady Mountains are the most south-eastern part of Poland. They are one of the biggest tourist attractions in
Europe. The mountains with their magnificent and untouched nature, Solina Lake created through damming up the
River San and Solinka by the biggest dam in Poland, unique climate, abundance, of rare flora and fauna species, all these
create ideal conditions for rest and tourism. The guests can go on a Solina Lake cruise by a passenger ship and take part
in outdoor events such as bonfires and festivities.
Sanok is a town situated in the South-East of Subcarpathian county, at
the intersection of roads leading from Przemysl, Rzeszów and Krosno
into the Bieszczady mountains. It is placed in a picturesque San river
valley, by the Slonne mountains, which themselves are the foothills
of the Bieszczady. The oldest part of the town is situated on a steep
hill, crowned by Góra Parkowa (364 m above sea level). Especially
recommended are old town middle-class buildings from the 18th and
19th centuries.
Krosno is situated in southeastern part of Poland, in the Carpathian Foothills. The town is located on the river bank of
Wisłok and its tributary – Lubatówka. The historical centre of the town lies about 277 m a.s.l. The town whose fortifications
were erected as early as during the reign of King Casimir III the Great, for ages has gathered the works of art reflecting the
tastes, likes and financial capabilities of the dwellers. Today, the monuments impress tourists visiting Krosno.
