WHAT DOES FINANCIAL
PLANNING MEAN?
Don Rahn, CFP® - Senior Wealth Management Advisor
Financial planning is a term that is often used and it means
different things to different people. From budgeting,
to planning for retirement, to saving for education, to
managing your taxes and your investments, “finances”
doesn’t mean just one thing for all—and “financial planning” means much
more than just investing. Bringing all the pieces of your financial life together
is a challenging task. At First Point Wealth Management, we take a very
comprehensive approach to financial planning, and we believe it is the key to
providing a solid financial foundation.
We also realize that financial planning is very personal and unique to each
person’s situation. We believe developing a comprehensive financial plan
that keeps you on the right track to helping you achieve personal economic
fulfillment is crucial. Financial planning takes the guesswork out of managing
your finances and helps you understand the implications of each financial
decision you make. Everyone has different goals, so it’s important to have
a unique plan that works for you and your financial situation, providing you
peace of mind.
In a nutshell, comprehensive financial planning integrates six key steps to
assure the best use of your resources in meeting your goals.

EMV CARDS
EMV Chip Cards are here! First National Bank will be transitioning to the EMV
chip cards beginning November 1, 2015.
What is an EMV Chip Card?
A chip card - also known as an EMV card
adds an extra layer of security when
you pay. Chip cards can be used
anywhere your other cards are used,
but the chip functionality only works
at a business that has an activated
chip-enabled terminal.
-
Why are chip cards more secure?
• The chip generates a unique, one-time code each
time you dip your card at a chip-enabled terminal. Your purchase can only
be approved with the chip-generated code.
• The chip in your card is virtually impossible to duplicate. That means
attempts by fraudsters to create and use counterfeit cards will be much
harder.
How do I use it?
1.Insert your card into the chip-enabled terminal with the chip first, facing
up.
2.Leave the card in the terminal until the transaction is complete. You may
be prompted to sign your name.
3.If there isn’t a chip-enabled terminal, use the card the traditional way and
swipe.
No action is needed on your part to benefit from this new security measure.
If you have a debit card, you will automatically be receiving the new EMV Chip
Cards when your current card is up for renewal. Please contact us at
515-232-5561 if you have any questions about the EMV chip card.
